One thing I hate about trying to do these types of films on console is we don't have custom animations like PC has through mods.
@ashskyqueen8 жыл бұрын
I understand your frustration not having access to the animations but believe me, if you did have them you'd have a whole other list of frustrations. This vid is relatively simple and only took about 60 hours to plan and shoot but my biggest machinima video 'Siren' ran me well over 200 hours of planning and research. The mods are a great tool but they are far from easy to use. With over 25,000 animations in the game, no categorised list or guide, you literally have to watch through them all one by one to find the ones that work. Then there's figuring out how to make them work the way you want by combining other mods with scene director. If you do ever get PC and mods or just want to know more about using animations check out this channel - kzbin.info/door/zkFiWms11gxAip6n0cQz3A Links to all the other mods used are listed in the description too. Though they are tricky to use and take a lot of time, I highly recommend them if you can get your hands on PC version. Don't give up, even without mods you can still make great vids with rockstar editor. Good luck Joe. And thanks for watching :)

Hey how do you do all the things that you normally cannot do? Like how did you get her to lay down on the road or how did you get him to drop to his knees? or even. blowing up the bike in your garage? I'm trying to learn the rockstar editor, but I'm so confused on how people like yourself are able to make videos like yours. Please help.

We use PC version and combine various single player mods to animate the characters, access interiors and spawn objects where we need them (like the bike explosion scene) all the mods are linked in the description box :)

Perfect video! I'm a huge follower of your works but can i ask something? What is the animation name or number that man drop his knees at the end? I've been looking for it for many days. I've looked over 40.000 animations but i couldn't find it. I think i missed it. At least can you tell me what number should i search? Is it above or below 25.000?
@ashskyqueen8 жыл бұрын
08096. The latest version of scene director has animation search feature allowing you to search by keywords. Go to GTAV Mods and download it if you haven't already. You just go to animation beta in the menu as normal, press F and type in your keyword and it will only preview the animations that have that word in the code so you don't have to go through all 40k of them. More info here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fabXlH2Cbb90ZpI :)
@osmanege98178 жыл бұрын
Yeah i know that. I just search keywords like "knees, drop, sad, arrest, hostage etc" ahaah i never think that it was car stolen animation :) As i though i missed it, Thank you so much!

Can I Get Copyright Strike if i edited video on Rockstar Editor and Sony Vegas 14 with NCS Song?
@ashskyqueen8 жыл бұрын
As long as you make your own video and use non copyrighted music you are ok. I assume 'NCS song' means a song from No Copyright Sounds channel - kzbin.info. As far as I am aware this channel is reliable and the songs available are copyright free. Check the description of the song you want to use to make sure it has no copyright. They usually require you to place certain details in your video description (song name, artist name, download link etc.) Copy the text from their video description and place it into your description and then you are ok to use the song and wont get a copyright strike :)
@lemonjuicr47208 жыл бұрын
+Ash - Skyqueen Thanks for NCS description :) But if i export Rockstar Editor video to sony vegas 14 to add NCS music i didnyt get copyright yeah?
@ashskyqueen8 жыл бұрын
No you wont get striked for extra editing and adding music. Rockstar allows user created videos both direct uploads from the game and videos edited with other software like sony vegas and they wont strike you. They also allow use of single player mods like I used in this video. As long as you don't use mods online they are allowed too. If you are lucky they may even promote your video on the rockstar games newswire! They promote fan videos regularly I've even had a few features myself
@lemonjuicr47208 жыл бұрын

Pretty okay story, but i have some critique. 1: First of all you were using different camera angles too much. To the point that it hurt my head. You were using as many camera angles as it would take to make a short film twice the length of yours. 2: You were cutting too much, again to the point of it hurting my head. Instead hold longer so that she can display her emotions better so that we can sympathize with her. So that we can understand the agony of being alone without your partner. 3: You never made us understand why she was looking for something. It could have just as well been the case that she was looking for medical assistance. We could never really sympathize with her because she did not have a clear goal and she did not display any emotions through out the story. If i was in that situation i would have been scared for my life i would have been crying and screaming. She just drove to different places looking for something. Then the twist ending came but since you never gave her an emotional journey it wasn't impactful and it unfortunately fell flat. 4: You are missing reaction shots for example when she was on the crane looking at him driving the bike. It was missing a reaction shot of her being happy. Because now it looks more like she is stalking a prey. 5: You displayed the world as weird and lonely but she never reacted to it. It's as she wasn't ever present. 6: It was too repetitive and under structured she was going to different places like 5 times and nothing different happened until finally she saw someone in a mirror. Now this could have been really interesting if you had displayed her emotions better. This is how i personally would have done it; (SETUP) A fox slowly creeps up on something in the middle of a deserted highway, the only sound that we can hear is the sound of a engine. Then we see the feet of someone. The fox starts scratching at the person and we hear moans and grunts. Dazed and confused the person wakes up and the fox runs away. It's revealed to be a woman she sits up confused and looks around. (Inciting incident) She sees her bike and suddenly we are flash backed several minutes before the horrible accident. She and her parter is riding together having the time of their life. Then to juxtapose it we are thrown back onto the deserted highway. She looks bruised and sad. We now understand that something went wrong. (This is a cliche opening but this is only a example) She gets up and walks slowly towards the bike and gets on and rides off. She starts searching for him far and wide as she realizes that the city is deserted. There are billboards everywhere marketing love. She notices them and is reminded of how lonely she is. Her mental state becomes more and more unstable until she finally brakes down and cries inside of a restroom. She is hopeless, she is realizing the fact that she will never meet him again. She curdles up on the dirty restroom floor and takes out a picture of him. She starts looking more sad, she starts stroking the picture as she wishes he was there with her. (Rising action) Then suddenly a footstep! she looks around and sees the back of someone's head in the mirror. She recognizes him and runs after him. But he is gone. She looks really sad but then she sees through the window him driving off on his motorcycle. She now understands that it's him. She's unable to catch up to him and she losses him once again but she now has hope. She drives to a crane and climbs up to see if she can spot him. Days go by and she starts looking helpless. She has given up and goes down the ladder but halfway down she sees him. She is filled with joy and she hurries to get on her motorcycle and chase after him. (Climax) She follows him and finds him at the graveyard sitting by a grave. She walks closer and sees the name of the grave it's her, she is dead! she feels helpless as she wants to wipe his tears and tell him that it's okay. But she can't because he can't see her. (Resolution) Flashback to the horrible accident as she crashes her bike right into a oncoming car and her partner instantly brakes and gets of his bike only to be confronted by the worst thing imaginable. His partner is dead the single most important person in his life has been lost. You see how much more impactful it is when the story is better structured and we are shown her emotions. We can now sympathize with her and feel the joy of her finally finding him and the heartbreak that comes with it. It's also much more interesting now that it's structured for maximum effect on the audience. Just remember that emotions take time that's why commercials are mostly comedic because you can't setup a dramatic story in that kind of time frame. Next time focus on the emotions and structure more so that you can tell a impactful heart aching story that will have the viewers on the edge of their seat. I hope that this has been of any help to you and good luck in your film making!

Don't waste your creative talents on me bro! Get out there and make some vids. Sounds like your videos will be AMAZING! Good luck ;)

Experience will help you more than any text book. Jump in. You can't study on how to make a vid like this with this game. There's no class. No text book. No teacher. Just a game, and a bunch of mods. If you want to learn about making content like this, you actually have to attempt to make it. Get the game, experiment with the resources available, try to implement the suggestions you made to me and see how it compares to what your are studying. Trust me, you will learn a great deal. If you want to be a filmmaker in terms of movies, that's a whole different challenge from what you see here. For example - I cant just tell my actor to do something, can't 'direct' them the way a movie director would. I have to trawl though ten's of thousands of pre coded animations and movements to find one that makes my actor look like she's doing what I want her to. Give it a go. The experience will be valuable to you. Check out the mods listed in the description box, specifically scene director. Go look at his channel to see how it works behind the scenes. And don't forget to check out Lost Highway part 2 and Siren here on my channel. Also visit my friends BloodLust180 and Banished Breed for more machinima vids
