I’m fascinated with the Amish. I took a buggy ride with a chatty elder Amish man the last time I was up there. He answered all our questions and talked about how they really don’t cut off communication with relatives who leave the religion. That was nice to hear.

One thing that strikes me about the Amish Country you filmed is how clean and neat everything is. Things are well maintained and manicured. I didn't see any litter. The rest of the country could do well, to take after the Amish in that regard.

I'm glad that y'all are in PA! It's the forgotten Appalachia. After visiting the Gettysburg area, head about two hours west to Bedford. Lots of history! Revolutionary War, French & Indian War, and Civil War soldiers walked these mountains. Coal mines, steel mills, and farming were the normal way of life here. Many people view east Tennesse/western North Carolina as "Appalachia", which it is. However, there is so much more to Appalachia to explore! Don't forget about us! Love your channel!

That was so cute when Jody was feeding the goats, the big ones wanted all the treats. And the way she was talking to them. The babies were standing back just watching. Love your videos, John. Other things in the area that are great to visit is Riehl’s Quilts and Crafts. It is a very nice store where over 100 Mennonite and Amish families come together and sell all there homemade things in. It isn’t far from Bird in Hand bakery where you all visited. Sight and Sound does amazing productions. The Li’l Country Store and Mininature Horse Farm, Dieners Restaurant, Kitchen Kettle Village, Kauffman’s Fruit Farm (has best apple cider), National Christmas Center Museum, BB’s Grocery Outlet, Roots is on Tuesday and is big farmers market, and Green Dragon is on Fridays and is a big farmers market. There is so much to see in Lancaster County. Hope you enjoyed your trip. Goods Store which is right across from Shady Maple Market is like a Mennonite Walmart but is really nice and different than Walmart.

I wish our government would work on demolishing old buildings and houses that have fallen into ruin, all over the country. Work with the owners, but if it's abandoned or a safety hazard, tear it down. Our country needs to be cleansed of all these eyesores.
