Although I’m soon to be 65 you and I dress alike same hat and shirt. And I received a H&R Topper Jr. 410 shotgun for Christmas when I was 7 years old from my dad and mom. I still have it today and carry it often I also carry a 357 on my hip or a shoulder holster. And a haversack I’ve had for probably 50 plus years. I carry at least 3 ways to start a fire and 2 compasses a poncho and liner and paracord and a few snacks my canteen of water and a canteen cup. And my m65 jacket My mora eldis neck knife a Swiss Army knife and a net hammock and a mora bushcraft black. It’s amazing how much we are alike

I'm just glad I had folks like you growing up who showed me this stuff and made me use it so I could actually employ my skills as I need. And yea ha 357 410 combo takes pretty much all the game in the lower 48

Love the Hatfield but about 800 rounds through my 12 gauge model of Hatfield. It’s a Walmart special to. I take that thing everywhere and cotton kills. They taught me that Boy Scouts too. I’m from Indiana. I just seen your channel for the first time. It seems like you’re the same shit I’m into.

Yes sir cotton does kill. And yes, the hatfield brand is a very good brand. I've never had a miss fire or anything thus far. I've had it For over ten years

man I was hunting up in the Manistee National forest in 2014. I had never been there before. It had snowed heavy the night before the opener. (Yes I know, why not follow your tracks out?) But I had made my way to a spot in which to sit that morning, just before first light. It snowed all morning but I could still vaguely see my tracks. At any rate, I got up to leave that afternoon and because I thought I knew where I was, I chose a different way to walk out (towards the two track I thought).. I walked and walked and walked.. finally I came up to a spot that looked familiar, I kept walking towards it and then I realized "wholly sh!t, I just walked a huge circle." I was right back to my hunting area but came in from the complete other way... at that point I realized I had been lost, awhile, and had no clue where I was.. It was then I got real scared, the fact that I had no idea I had lost my way. So let me just say, I picked up my old tracks and decided to just stay on them and muddle my way back out.. I never go in now with out a compass, anywhere.

@@offthecouch1999 There are a few in the area of GSF. On the south end of the GSF WMA is a small community called Hacoda. A friend lives there. She went to see what the dogs were barking at one morning a few years back.....a mother and two cubs up a tree in their yard. I've hunted that WMA most of my life and since Florida closed their bear season, you can find tracks on occasion.

It only takes one time for you to learn about survival mine came when I was 17. You don't have no worries about whether I believe you I have no reason not to .

@offthecouch1999 my father and I were deer hunting that day we was dressed in coveralls for the cold in northwest Louisiana is not a hard environment in winter nonetheless it was cold we got the truck stuck no food and no water we had a half bottle of cold coffee we were fortunate that the truck had a camper shell to keep us protected from the wind and the insulated coveralls kept us warm that night . The next morning I hiked out to a store a few miles from where we were stuck and a nice local helped pull us out . We both had cigarette lighters at the time I smoked we were smokers and had a chainsaw with some gas we built a fire that night and also cut a tree trying to get the truck out . Luckily it was only overnight. After that I read everything I could find on survival and made up and carried a kit with canned food and made sure I had water with a sleeping bag when going to the woods. I still carry items in my car no matter what the environment 41 years later and a ton more of knowledge.
