Scotland jungle is probably easy to walk through as compared to a rainforest. It’s called woods instead of jungle. Without the boardwalk, we probably gonna take much longer time to track it. It’s more dangerous and dense. In a short time the track is impassable because the shrubs and weeds grow too fast and you’ll get lost much too easily.

I went to Taman Negara 3 times...i went to the canopy walkway and Gua Telinga (Ear Cave).. A lots of bats in there..quite adventure because the cave is small and you have to be slim & fit to get out from the cave, if you have big fat body, i don't think you can get out from there unless you have to turn back to the entrance of the cave..the exit are very narrow and you have to crawl a bit to get yourself out from that small cave....

@@SilkyRonTheRoad : at that time of the year (in the 70s) I can walk in the night with only the Moon's and or Stars' light. Its all crystal clear to my eye. The Seasonal Easterly wind dislodge its water of the East side of the Range (Convectional Relief rainfall). So we have a clear sky on the Western side. Its cool with occasional rain during the day, but the night is a total different story. The morning mist may even wet my school uniform and its cold (maybe 25-27C). My village those days has no water and electrical supply.

There's a huge difference between the wilderness in Scotland and any tropical jungle. We have had many tourists lost and some serious problems trying to locate them. I did the Endau Rompin 2nd trail and you can lose the person in front of you in a split second. We also have tigers but its the very small animals and insects that can cause much damage. As you have discovered earlier that Malaysians are not money oriented but we pride ourselves as being good hosts and we hope our tourist reciprocate by being safe- i can see you guys are respectful. As i always tell my guests- lose yourself in the experience but don't lose yourself in the wilderness.

Hi SilkyRon, FYI, recently, the Forestry Department enforced many rules that discourages the public from going back to nature and entering their "forest", ranging from applying permit run around (no online application & payment etc), some even to register at police station to permit cost increases, maximum 7 hikers per Guide now, etc. There are some forest & hills that the local folks going up daily for decades without such permit hassle but now they are deprived from going in, else a fine of RM x,xxx per person!

Remember not every person as tough as you and not always family members as tough as yours when the one has been lost weeks in the jungle while all the rangers, soldiers, firefighters, search n rescue team are non stop looking for missing people. Chill bro, you are on the GOOD Guys.. Unfortunately not everyone goin into these pristine forest just gonna leave footprints . Poachers , illegal agarwood extractions , rattans and many other tropical medicinal value trees been destroyed, they been taking advantage of the loophole or the ease of access . heck when these unscrupulous people gets into accidents they hv the audacity to claim as tourist and ask the authorities to mobilize RESCUE effort. is more prevailing now, as our economy has slowed down.. the Jungle is EASY MONEY if you know where too look and TAKE.

You can visit the other part of Taman Negara from Terengganu state which is located next to a large freshwater dam (Lake Kenyir). Kenyir Geopark, occupying 244,900 hectares, comprises Lake Kenyir, 340 islands, and 15 geosites including Bewah Cave, Gunung Gagau Tower, Batu Bersurat (Inscription Stone Memorial) and Taat Cave as well as the discovery of dinosaur footprints and fossils. A recent discovery in one of the caves found the oldest skeleton in the country - 16,000 years old. Apart from that Lake Kenyir is also a wildlife heaven especially local and migratory bird species. You can also visit a fish sanctuary up the river stream to conserve an endangered species of river fish called Kelah.

There is a reason for building the path and needed tour guide. This is south east Asia jungle. Even in the city you can see lizard and snakes sometimes. Imagine you are entering the wild animal home. I live nearby one of the state city. 3 day ago we just caught a python after killing our cat. So be careful. Every nature has its own unique and danger. Some you can easily spot the danger. Some don't. Just be cautious when you are in the jungle or nearby the river. Ok 👌.
