That show was even more goofy than Lost in Space. Gil Gerard was angry about the stupid writing and demanded more serious plots. He didn't get them. Even worse, Glen Larson tried to sell the show on sex appeal, even more blatantly than Star Trek. He put Erin Gray in costumes so tight, it's a wonder she was able to breathe! At least Irwin Allen had the decency to put Angela Cartwright in a skirt when she got older.

One I'm surprised you didn't mention was Police Squad. It was the creation of the Zucker brothers of Airplane! fame and it starred Leslie Neilson and George Kennedy. The show only lasted 6 episodes. However, it turned into a huge movie franchise that most of you would remember as The Naked Gun series. The reason the show was cancelled was because the producers didn't think the audience wouldn't get the sight gags. The movie franchise proved them wrong. Oh, and Just Our Luck is our first example of 'get woke, go broke'.

It’s Your Move was very underrated and most of the staff and David Garrison would all work together again on Married with Children, which like It’s Your Move had an edge. Funny you mentioned The Dregs of Humanity episode, the very next episode right after that infamous Dregs of Humanity episode, he actually did caught by his mom when he tried to find a way to get his mom’s boss a raise and it backfires badly on him. That episode marked the beginning of the format change into a more traditional sitcom after the fuss about parents made about the Matt Burton character being a bad influence on kids as well as the move to Saturdays from Wednesdays. Very brilliant video overall here.

Matt getting caught by his mom in a scheme killed the show. There would be no reason for her to trust him in future episodes. It's Your Move was a great show.

I also liked *Misfits of Science.* But I should say... I liked the IDEA of that. In my young age I also started to draw a comic, based on that concept (and yes, I saw that show BEFORE the Marvel comics). But my "need" to make a comic was fed from FRUSTRATION: the show had great potential, but everything was so slow and their skills never grew up to make it cool. I wanted more action and excitement. As same as for the show *"My Secret Identity",* where I was hoping all the time to see the character to learn to master his powers and start to be cool, but it was slow, not that funny and at the end of the season he was still lame like he just got his powers that week. For god's sake! He had a scientist friend able to create any freaking impossible device, to compensate his inability to fly (he can only float) and make other possible useful gadgets... but they chose to keep the castrating argument "I'm not going to help you to become a super hero, jeopardising your incolumity !", perfectly knowing that he would have kept going to act on his own, but without his precious help. (because in fiction, geniuses are all stupid).
@BETMARKonTube Жыл бұрын
To prove my point: even in the clip he used for this video, he had to add cool music to a collection of the few action scenes toke from different episodes and focus on the only 2 character with an interesting power. And still, you can see every scene is terribly slow and they take forever to use it once... and the small man just kinda fit inside small holes. That's all of the action of the show.

With the exceptions of Just Our Luck, Square Pegs and Bosom Buddies, I watched and loved all of these shows. It's Your Move - I LOVE the Christmas episode where they were mixing up a chemical in the bathtub and giving it as gifts, either as cologne or liquor. At one point his sister come out and complains that it's starting to eat through the tub. Norman says that if he thinks so little of him that he'd give him a bottle of the stuff, he can forget it. Matt casually picks up a notepad and crosses his name off the list. Of course also the two part episode with the Dregs of Humanity. :)

I remember being so bummed when they failed to air the last episode of 'It's Your Move' in favor of a presidential broadcast. It wasn't that in itself, it was the fact that they never aired the final episode, so you never got to see what happened after the Dregs of Humanity show. Had to wait to see the final episode when it was posted on KZbin.

In 1983 there was a midsession show called Ryan’s four a medical drama starring Tom skerrit and Tim Daly. It did well in the ratings but the network dropped it cause they had another medical show on the schedule so they dropped Ryan. After the bonafide success of Emmy winning programs Dallas, Knots Landing and Falcon Crest...Lorimar Television was looking for new ways to produced more successful programs and they are Rituals, ALF, Our House, Full House, Paradise, Midnight Caller, Family Matters, Sisters, Dark Justice, Homefront, I'll Fly Away, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, Time Trax and Babylon 5 with better ratings.

Lorimar has found some great success since The Waltons and Eight is Enough but they produced one of the most popular sci fi programs for the production company: the Emmy Award winning Max Headroom with Matt Frewer. Aired on ABC and ran for a total of seven successful seasons from April 1985 to March 1991. Filmed at Pinewood Studios, London, England and the Burbank Studios, Burbank, California.
