"LOST" is my favorite TV show. In my opinion, it was a microcosm of the human condition. In a blind and screaming panic, each of us enters a morally conflicted world full of unanswered questions and mind-bending mysteries. Nothing is ever wrapped up in a neat little bow because things like that never happen on this island Earth. Our human story and the "LOST" story have only one question to ask and answer: "Who are our constants?" When each character realizes that they have bonded with someone eternally special, everything becomes crystal clear. Everything is instantly resolved. The scales fall from their eyes. It is certainly reasonable to be bothered by unanswered questions and dangling threads. But these things are beside the point in "LOST". What matters most are the people and the relationships that they forge with each other.

If the series is garbage, your condemning opinion is what? As a writer, you should know that not everything revolves around the answers, as was the case with Lost. One of the great movie classics, 2001 - Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick) is not about answers. It is about the journey, the odyssey. Everyone brought to the island was a possible candidate to be that replacement, and in the end jack becomes it long enough to save the island from crumbling and then gave his position to hugo who held it for an unspecified amount of time. When they all met up in the very very end it was the afterlife and basically jacks spirit had waited until everyone else died to meet up in the afterlife so he could meet up with everyone at once.

I was in your position years ago. First thing i will tell you is that you will never find a tv show that will fulfill the hole left after watching Lost. Best thing i found was introducing Lost to others or watching Lost reactions. But here are a couple shows that I watched in the spirit of finding a Lost replacement. Once Upon A Time -Similar actors and storytelling Heros- similar cliff hanging La Brea - situational similarity, survival and sci-fi Colony - If you are missing Sawyer Under The Dome - Yellow Jackets- Haven't seen it but ppl say its like Lost From - interesting twists, more of a horror The 100 - survival show with cliffhangers Manifest - mysterious Airplane and spiritual related Silo - See -

LOST is the single greatest story ever put on media! I am crushed my favorite philosopher hates my favorite show! I don't know if I can go on. It stretched out the "what the heck is going on here?!?!?" for 6 YEARS. That's WHY it was so awesome. After 6 years of greatness, who even cares what the ending is? Ahhh......

This guy is repeating commonly held disinformation about the TV series. The writers knew, the beginning and the end but created the middle as the journey went on. People that understand and have WATCHED the entire series understand this. I cant believe in 2023/24 we have people still repeating talking points from the mid 2000s

I'm sorry Andrew Klavan, but what you said is the whole point of the show, and you missed it. Look at Christianity, for example. There are so many paradoxes in Scripture that can't explained, there are questions about God and evil, about Predestination and free will, that can never be answered. But we rest on the cross, despite all these questions. The same for the characters in LOST, and the viewers. There were so many unsolved questions, but the ending was not something that dismissed these questions, or explained them away, but something that transcended all their doubts, their struggles, their lack. The ending was not an Answe to questions. The ending was a Completion to their characters. And that is how the Lost were Found.

I loved every minute while i watched and was so furious when it had such an unsatisfying ending!!! I had like 15 sub plots with questions that i was so excited to see how they pulled it all together and they never did! I’m glad i didn’t know that when i started or i wouldn’t have wasted my time. But i feel cheated!

THAT'S IT, UNSUBBED! Just kidding. I loved it for the characters. But yeah, they never knew where things were going. It didn't bother me so much on my first viewing because I am terrible at figuring out mysteries anyway. I gave up even trying. I would like to rewatch it to see how I'd think about it now, years later. Probably much more frustrating.
@astragalusson19 күн бұрын
1. Just 5 episodes? There weren't so many twists in the first 5 episodes of the show. There are a few mysteries but not really anything so hard to explain. It would be ridiculous to say "they can't solve this" after the first 5 episodes as the mysteries were still very basic. It sounds like you're using the show's alleged "bad ending" reputation backwards to justify your questionable early judgement of the show and maybe even you're trying to take a some kind of false credit from that judgement as if you've foreseen the failure just after 5 episodes; which also makes me question the validity of the story you're telling us. 2. If you didn't watch the rest, how do you know they kept adding up twists and turns? And how do you know they didn't solve them? How do you know the show and the ending were gargabe? How did you end up with that conclusion without watching it? Jumping to the band-wagon or what? 3. Why do you mention the total cop-out "they were all dead" or "it was all a dream" ending examples when LOST's ending wasn't like that at all. Are you one of those who stupidly misunderstood or at least misheard the ending to be "they were dead all along" after the finale? 4. I'm not one of those fans who loves or fiercely defends the ending or the last season in general and I agree with some of the criticisms that say they didn't do a perfect job when tying up some mysteries or answering some questions but this quick and harsh "judgement" of the show doesn't sound neither genuine, well-informed or fair at all. It sounds like someone trying to be a smartass, no offense...

If you didn't like the first season of Lost, you're nuts! You definitely wouldn't like the rest of Lost if the episodes, Walkabout and White Rabbit didn't move you. The ending was complicated, but it does make sense and is beautiful even from the perspective of the mythology. The point of the show is that we have to take responsibility for our destiny even when we have to take an incredible leap of faith. Jack had the best character development that showed a man of science becoming a man of faith.

We realized Lost was garbage pretty early on. They're supposed to have seen some strange monster on the island but they're all perfectly fine, wandering around all alone, not even looking about for threats, acting if they were in Disneyland. I'm supposed to believe they're somewhere dangerous while they acted like that and only showed fear when the plot called for some kind of action?

It is no mystery, I've finished this series a long time ago, it is a great tv series. The twists are awesome and the acting and peaks are great. However, he said "they can't solve it". Which in the end they really didn't. So as a screenwriter he didn't bother to watch.

My husband and I are watching the series for the first time. We’re starting the 6th season which I believe is the last. The first 4 seasons were amazing and started to get confusing in the fifth. We’re sticking with it to the bitter end as there’s nothing new that we care to watch and I can only watch The Sopranos and Mad Men so many times.
