fun little detail i noticed, at 1:14 Yagami before gameplay starts gets into the snake style stance. He earlier mentioned when he debuted the style that it was supposed to be a softer style to use against delinquents and such. In the next intro Yagami says to the delinquent that he should start treating him like an adult and he gets into the tiger stance, which as we know is NOT a soft style. Just a nice touch.

Another little thing is how that first fight just used the generic battle themes, which are very laid back and lighthearted. The second fight is actually the first time Vorarephilia plays in the game, which is a far more intimidating theme, and I think it shows how Yagami is pretty much done with the bullies at this point.

Yeah I feel like Tesso and Nabe should have been a part of the final fight with Yagami and the others. Would have made the ending feel more epic with Yagami showing up with a whole army of badasses. Nabe basically became irrelevant after you fought him.

Idk about that, 5 and 7 were overly amazing too. I usually have a tough time choosing between 0, 5, 7, and LJ. Then again basically every game in the series is a 9 or 10/10 (with the lowest of 3 being an 8/10 or so), so it’s practically all subjective with this masterpiece series lol

@@thatitalianlameguy2235 it’s plot is far from a mess if you have any active reading comprehension, the gameplay feels LEAGUES better than 4 (only part I understand is preferring Saejima in 4 for differeny paced combos), Akiyama is far from shoehorned in as he’s already finished the only arc he cared about and stated his entire purpose is to enable other’s dreams (hence why his inclusion is exactly what it should’ve been expected to be in 5 and 6), and the weapon system that is better than any previous ones at the very least Not to mention possibly the most side content even to this day, one of the best easily that only might tie with LJ, longest content, perfect climaxes for the overall arc of the series, celebration of all that came before, some of the best music easily, and much much more. Yea, I’d say it’s pretty top tier, which is probably why most people consider it to be too lmao

Dunno if its just me, but kinda sad that we don't get an over the top dramatic clash for the last boss like the first game, the dramatic intro/sequences against The Mole for the last boss was way more satisfying (the thunderstorm, smashed panes, extended fight sequence with Yagami barely managing to match pace with the boss, and that dramatic pause with the thunder flash....damn that was sick)

Kuroiwa was the presence and menace, the killer in a corner with nothing to lose. Losing to Kuroiwa meant a grisly death, and Shono vanishing as Kuroiwa would likely continue his work in Tokyo PD. Kuwana was less about the stakes and more a clash of ideals that simply came to a head: Yagami spent the entire game chipping apart the logic Kuwana used to justify his actions, even though Kuwana made very valid points in regards to how the law simply fails. Kuwana would have walked away regardless, but this was a last ditch effort to appeal to sensibility and reason. No one wins in a game of tit-for-tat with murder. I heard it described as a fine clash of Lawful Good against Chaotic Good.

I’m completely the opposite for that, Kuwana’s intro is easily one of the two best for final bosses in the series (Aizawa’s was sick cause of the qte first punch). Mix that with possibly the best track of the series (at least for final bosses, Two Dragons was the only rival), one of the best and most interesting characters in the series (especially for antagonists), and the best combat of the series to date, you’ve got yourself one of the best fights of the series

Kuwana’s intro alone makes him one of my favorite characters and fights in this series, and makes it incredibly hard to choose a favorite boss, final or otherwise. I’d say some of my favorites are Shibusawa, Shindo, 4’s finale, Watase/Katsuya + protags, Majima (5), Aizawa, Someya, Majma/Saejima (7), Kiryu (7), Tendo, and Kuroiwa. The fact that Kuwana might top most or all of them is insane to me. Who knew this random dude would be one of the most interesting characters with some of the best music ever, best combat to date, and emotional payoff in spades lmao

I'm not saying the qte sequences weren't sick in their own right for this game but I'm still kinda sad we didn't get a big ass choreographed sequence with Kuwana like we got with Kuroiwa. Like, Soma matches Kuroiwa in his darkness and creepiness, but Kuwana was similar to Kuroiwa in that he was Yagami's mirror match.

There's some great stuff in this game, as is par for the course, but it just doesn't hold a candle to how insane the first game had it. Every boss in the first game had stellar stuff, whereas this one feels significantly more restrained. Restrained Judgment is still amazing, but man, what I wouldn't give for more of what the Kuroiwa fights gave us. I guess this game just had a different stunt coordinator or something?

I don't think it's restrained; I think it's lacking. There just aren't as many cool boss fights this time around; 'Judgment' had a lot more than this, as well as action scenes that were longer and cooler. Restraint implies that they HAD the ingredients but didn't take them far. My impression is that they didn't have enough ingredients.

Regardless, the story content (especially in the finale) outweighs the first game in weight so much that I honestly don't mind it. Besides, Judgment set the bar pretty damn high anyway. Lost Judgment is still definitely a strong effort regardless.

0:03...this super realistic kids, in this game that wants to talk of very real problems, so brave from RGG stutios to tackle this problems in such a way, is ok for Yagami to hit them, heck for how it looks would be ok to born them with fire. Im also here because I can't have enough Higashi xD, hope he is more in Kaito story. Also I would never play a Yakuza game with english dub, even 7 who has a very good voice actor for Ichiban, sounds so bad with other characters, and the karaoke is terrible, no, I don't think is better "because it is like real karaoke." people can save that bullet as a reply, but...I do like more the acting in the english dub in the Judgment games, I honestly think is better. Sorry for the purist, hope not to hurt anyones feelings.

They really botched the inputs on this one. I don’t mind multiple button presses, but the directional inputs are ass, specially since they’re directly next to a right facing arrow making it a lot harder to read in the small time frame. Honestly hope they fix this, or just drop them all together, hoping for the former tho.
