I love ALL members of PTX because they each bring something to the table but the 1 aspect to Scott that (IMO) gives him a slight edge over the others is that you can tell no matter what he is singing, he FEELS the music through every bone in his body and through his entire soul!

YES! Love this one! Mario is a close personal friend of all of PTX (was a tour assistant) he even opened for them! He joins Scott and Mitch and others in a heart wrenching cover of Katy Perry's Rise on their Superfruit channel. Definitely need to check it out!

I remember an interview early on when Kevin said he believed Scott is a musical genius, and another time he told Scott that his (Kevin’s) dad also believed him to be a musical genius. When I first hear this release, those comments came back to me. Scott is a talented singer. But he is also an extraordinary arranger and general musician. And the fact that he loves to generously share his spotlight with other talented people makes me believe he always loves the music over the praise.

Great reaction. Thanks. Scott is a fan of both LP and Hans Zimmer. He said that it just came to him that the lyrics of LP's song would pair perfectly with the music of Hans Zimmer. He worked out the arrangement and the rest is history. Mario was a perfect duet partner.

My son is a classically trained vocalist. But he's an electrical engineer. After hanging around with him & his musical theater friends, plus attending local music theater productions they've been in, I realize those who "make it big" aren't usually that special. There are so many people everywhere with massive talent! I think that's why I love PTX, Avi, Home Free, etc. They've made it, but still have that fun + humility that reminds me so much of my bunch! I hope they keep that fun & delight until they're all 120 yrs old! 💖

Kevin has said since the beginning of PTX that Scott is a musical genius. He is extremely involved in their arrangements. And the fact that he heard this Hans Zimmerman work and thought ‘huh. I think I can do Lost on You over that’ shows how impeccable his musical ear is.

The way you explained the recipe for exceptional music, is so spot on. I could never find the words to describe it. That’s how I feel about Shoshana singing, make it rain, Scott and Shoshana singing All to me, that’s what Pentatonix does in their big pieces, like the prayer, or amazing Grace etc…

The emotion in this song with the instrumental, grabs me and won't let go until the end, then I have to put on some oxygen. To see a very powerful song you NEED to do the cover of Katy Perry's "Rise" by Superfruit (Mitch and Scott from PTX) along with Mario Jose, Brian Justin Crum, and Mary Lambert. This cover was done in response to the Pulse Night Club shootings in Orlando and the profits were donated to the survivors/family. Everyone in the group is Gay/Lesbian and it makes it all that more powerful of a song. (have tissues, or at least oxygen available)!

Brilliant cover of my favorite LP song. Absolute GENIUS to listen to Hans Zimmer and realize how perfectly LP's 'Lost on You' could fit within it. WOW~ Interesting side note: Scott is several inches taller than Mario. I've read reports that he had to stand with his legs splayed apart quite a bit to bring himself down to his friend's level for this video, but he didn't allow it to effect his performance one iota.

Fil, This is the first song that I listened to from Scott when he was not with PTX and its wonderful. Mario has a wonderful voice....I always say wonderful because they are, but I need to find a new word. Wow what power in the song taking you to new level. That is what's so great about art! The original artist creates a masterpiece that speaks to them personally. Someone can see a part of themselves within that masterpiece that moves them emotionally or spiritually. They can take the part that speaks to them, and use it to create their own art. It doesn't have to be the same, or better, it just tells their own unique story. Our world would be very boring if everyone liked the same things all the time.
