Michael Giacchino emotionally prepares us for the end of the show by returning to its main theme. Meanwhile, the Man In Black arrives at the Barracks - along with a couple of references to Giacchino's earlier work.

So many years after the show's ending, Michael Giacchino's amazing soundtrack for LOST still has many, many secrets to uncover. Not only does every main character have their own theme music, but much like the interconnected writing of the show itself, Giacchino's score connects locations, scenes, emotions and conflicts in unbelievably brilliant ways. For the foreseeable future, I will be exploring Michael Giacchino's soundtrack from ABC's LOST in a weekly video, covering all episodes of the show and their musical connections to each other.

Nice Call of Dity reference! I never noticed the Monster theme from Hearts and Minds being quietly inserted into that barracks scene. Also, what a connection with that "Live Together, Die Alone". You always surprise me with these small connections. I also absolutely love the original Credit where Credit is Due in this episode. Especially since it's also a beach scene.

It's a really great moment to revisit the main theme! Once again, these characters are stranded on the beach after a deadly accident, with no (obvious) way to leave the island. It really creates that sense of them being "back at square one".

Likely unintentional, but worth mentioning: the four-note melody from the Monster's theme also makes multiple appearances in the "Call of Duty" soundtrack - (2:19) kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6OkaaiklM-Cmc0

Leave it to Giacchino to go balls to the wall on the score for a random shooter. He's got me thinking I should play the original Call of Duty.

I haven't played the game, but the soundtrack is pretty great! I really, really love the main theme ("Call Of Duty" / "Pegasus Bridge" / "Taking Stalingrad").
