My favourite Lost in Transit so far. Well done Izzy completing that costal trek, particularly Lantic bay section, climbing Pencarrow Head. I know that coast very well, I spent much of my childhood at my grans (Beryl) in Trenewan just inland from Lansallos. We frequently visited the local Lansallos beach, hence Beryls bench.. I have fantastic memories of that area. It also sparked my interest in Geology and a career. I am now retired, but try and get down to Polruan every couple of years from up here in East coast Scotland. You could visit the many magical secret locations in this part of South East Cornwall, but making them popular is not always the best for the sites. You could give the quite well known 'Hall Walk', Polruan to Bodinnick a try. A lot easier than the coastal walk 😊 keep going with the Cornish videos.😊

What a lovely vid, thanks for sharing Izzy 😊 Cornwall at it's stunning best 🌄🌅 Wonderful intimate campsite - great find! I've got the Osprey Aether 70 (+15?) too, it's a cracking bag and I'm using it on day hikes as well, because my Atmos 35 is torn 💩😂 Good move with the bus ...it's about enjoyment 👍 (doesn't the SWCP have the greatest elevation gain in the UK ?) (YTs stunningly good algorithm bought me here)

Taking a bus home seems like a good decision! I think you were brave doing such a long walk so late in the day with that much weight. I did back-pack camping for the first time a couple of years ago (at age 67) with my son Tom. We had 3 nights in the Scottish highlands near Ullapool. One night in the tent and two nights in Botheys (Scottish mountain refuge buildings). A great experience, but I think I will stick to motorcycle camping trips in the future. Let the bike take the strain. Looking forward to your Welsh trip with your family.

I so enjoy your life affirming videos. You are inspiring, intrepid and just awesome. The latest solo coastal path walk showed the struggle and your endless positivity. Thank you so much for sharing, you are so good at making us all feel that you are talking to us as if we were there with you. By the way - tent poles do break so don't feel any guilt. However, when extracting those poles on their elastic when striking tent you should push them out from the far end rather than pulling them.

I walked the entire South West Coast Path with my 9 year old last year. Its such a magical place. Get a scratch map and work out how much youve done already, probably quite alot. Also I cant tell you how stressed i was watching you get on that ferry knowing how hard the trail was on the other side of the river😅

Well done Izzy, that was a long way to go with such a late start but you made it. A Vlog of the treck in Bannau Brycheiniog (it changed its name last year to the Welsh Version) would be lovely to see. As the risk of “teaching you to suck eggs” it’s always worth cleaning everything thoroughly after use before you put it away, it pays dividends the next time you use it. Also have you thought of getting Ordnance Survey maps on your phone, they are really useful and you can record all your walks as well.

I've walked Minehead to Falmouth so far on the SWCP and i already want to do it all over again. Yes its tough, really tough at times, but your body gets used to it after 2 or 3 days, you just have to take your time and rest often and most importantlly look after your feet along the way. I stop 2 or 3 times on a 17-20 mile day and just take off my shoes, change my socks and air my feet. Also, even though the Coast path is well marked (if you get wet you've gone wrong 🤪) i'd suggest using OS Maps or Outdoor Active on your phone rather than google maps. Have fun out there, our coast path is an awesome place to explore.

That campsite 🏕️ looks so nice. I camped in my van near Watergate Bay this week then got the coast hopper bus back after walking along the coastal path, really relaxing way to explore. I did Bude to Crackington Haven as my first proper SWCP hike earlier this year and the up/downess nearly made me die, probably only 8 or so miles but brutal, still nice though

Heavy stuff goes at the top, so you don't have to lean forward as much to get the weight over your feet. Conveniently, it's also the order in which you'd want to unpack. Sleeping bag last, when you've got your tent up to put it in.

As a long term ex Losty resident , Lantic is bloody lovely and you used to be able to camp on the beach, ellava climb though! Lansallos is lovely, but normally busy so I avoided . But carry on to Polperro and Looe is good The camping at St Winnow, not on the coast path is gorgeous but these days busy. Anyhoo enjoy me lovely I shall be retracing some of those steps when quieter in a month or two, and shall sit on my rock on the headland at Lantic, talk to the cows and put the world to rights! x

Firstly I'm glad you haven't murdered Tom. It's a lot of paperwork. 😊 Secondly, loved the vlog Izzy! I've walked a lot of the SW coastal path as a day hiker - it's substantially harder than it looks, them there hills are a killer - I find the downhill worse on the knees nowadays. However- there are some absolutely stunning sections, coves etc that you just wouldn't see otherwise. As for wild camping - and I don't mean this in a sexist way - if you are a single female, although you are almost certainly going to be OK, I just wouldn't risk it - a couple of single girls would be fine - but with paid camping at £9 a night, why take the risk? On a lighter note though - I'd love to see you do more of Ireland.
