I will try to give another analogy. For all of my anime heads, here it goes. Any of you ever saw the series afro samurai? So in the movie, Afro Samurai's father, Rokuturo, was the number one fighter in the world, and he wore the number 1 headband and is Killed by Justice, a cowboy gunslinger, who wore the number 2 headband until it he killed Rokulturo to take the number 1 headband. And Afro sought vengeance his whole life, wearing the number 2 headband because the one holding the number 2 headband is the only opponent that can challenge whoever holds the number 1, which is still Justice. However, anyone can challenge whoever holds the number 2 headband in their possession. Jay-Z in my opinion has the number 1 headband, but he knows that there is someone out there with that genius ability, who has the number 2 headband. But he is chillin, living life playing the flute, and doesn't seek that number one spot. He just wants to live life and create beautiful art and moments, not seeking revenge and ultimate power. Hope I didn't bore you guys!

Both are Amazing Rappers. The difference is Dre can Rap like Big Boi as he showed us on Southernayalisticadillacmuzik but Big Boi can’t rap like Dre. Nobody can. The rest of their albums showed his evolution as a rapper and his style change and the contrast between Big Boi’s style and Dre’s new style being able to work on the same song is what made OutKast so great. But not many rappers can play Big Boi’s role either.
@TizOnly13 жыл бұрын
Andre is the GOAT and I don't understand why there's even a debate tbh. He's better at rapping than anyone else who's ever done it. Zero bad verses. Every verse is about SOMETHING. You can't find a Dre verse (at least past the 1st album) that isn't laser focused on a topic, going deeper into a subject than vast majority of other rappers, while doing shit with the tempo, rhyme scheme, voice inflections... SOMETHING to give it extra life.. oh yeah, all while delivering technically perfect lyricism, with all sorts of poetic elements thrown in to vary it up. Lyrically more dexterous than any rapper ever. From ridiculously long multisyllabic schemes, alliteration, again inflection shifts from line to line in a pattern that goes for an entire verse... NOBODY else does that shit. Content depth of Tupac (different subjects, obv.. but in terms of how connected they are to the SOUL of whatever they're talking about.. they're 1A and 1B on that imo all time), while just being on an entirely different planet as far as technical skill (Andre NEVER giving you some Enemies/Hennessey rhyme). There's nobody else as good at rapping TECHNIQUE as Andre, that's anywhere close to as good at the human element of it. Not Jay.. not Big.. not Nas.. not Em. No. Not Royce, not Thought, not Lupe.. sorry. Phonte is the only other rapper I even bring up in this discussion as having the same combination of elements (just at a decently lower level), but y'all don't want that convo.

Andre 3000 was part of a group. Specifically a duo. Wasn’t like Wu Tang where some of em wasn’t on some songs. He was on every song. That’s his body of work. Take it or leave it. And The Love Below was part of a OutKast album but it was clearly a solo effort. And it’s the reason they won a Grammy for ALBUM OF THE YEAR. A solo album would be great but it’s not needed to consider him one of the GOATs. He’s in my personal top 5-7 of all time
