Bruised and Bloodied is one of my favs, I had no idea that made it to #1 that's a new song pretty much. They DO NOT make bad songs dude. My buddy and I have an inside joke called "The Seether Line" that's the gold standard for rock music, does it surpass the Seether line? If it does, it's a really good song.

It's a bit premature to call anyone a copy after 1 song, let alone 1 verse. I think you will find that Seether has a much harder sound than Pearl Jam and those mentioned...what Seether is definitely, is Dark as fuck. Don't listen to Seether to cheer yourself up. honestly, if we gotta make comparisons, it would be a band like 3 days grace. The other thing... this song is absolutely moving...as moving as it gets. The two were a couple, so there is a back story. One thing I have always noticed about this song is its superb production quality. It simply sounds amazing... even on a phone as I listened. But getting back to Seether... they had great songs that I predict will begin to flood "classic rock" radio soon.... along with all the other great bands of that era. Listen to these songs, and you will see what I'm saying. Gasoline Fine again Remedy Driven under Rise above this Nobody praying for me The gift

Yeah, on this song I hear it. But, I'm not even a huge Seether fan and Shaun Morgan is NOT a copy cat. He is a very distinct voice if you listen to other stuff. He has a lower voice but without that slurring mumbly " Eddie Vedder" sound. And just FYI, the song is actually not about a girl he lost or a record company supplied hit. In an interview, Shaun said it is about his brother who committed suicide. He said he was talking to him one minute, walked in the other room and came back to find his brother had jumped out a window to his death. Again, I don't listen to Seether that often but they are kind of their own band. Yes, his voice is similar in this song, but they would have been the same if Creed and Pearl Jam never existed.

This is probably the worst reaction video I have seen you two put up. The rest of Seether's songs are nothing like this... and this duet came about when the lead singer for Seether and Amy Lee were seeing each other. He had massive addiction problems and that is ultimately why the relationship failed. Her next album shortly after this touches base on his inability to stay sober and the end of their relationship. Having heard nothing from Seether I guess I can understand how you would think their success was found on copying other people, but I would strongly disagree with you. I have a feeling this reaction won't go over very well over time.

If Seether copied anyone it would be Nirvana. Early Seether (Saron Gas was their original band name) is very reminiscent of Kurt Cobain vocally. But this song is their big commercial hit. A lot of people in the comments are recommending their cover of Careless Whisper but it's just as overplayed as Broken. For some good Seether songs I'd recommend No Jesus Christ, 69 Tea, Fade Away, Eyes of the Devil, Needles, Driven Under... But if you go with their hits I would say Gasoline, Fake It, Remedy, Fine Again, Nobody Praying For Me would all be alright.

‘03, ,04 Shaun (lead singer of Seether) used to sing like that in studio versions, but after the second album his voice was raspy, heavy and unique. check out Fine Again, Remedy and Fake It or any song from their acoustic album.

This is a bad introductory song to Seether as it is mostly known for Amy Lee. And it is a retool of an album filler on Disclaimer. Seether is arguably the best 'Nirvana clone' and Shaun Morgan openly admits to emulating their sound.

This is one of those that radio played to death and turned a lot of people off, but it's a legit great song and Amy Lee is the star on anything she's on.

Lead singer of Seether and Amy Lee dated for a bit. Then they did songs about each other after the break up, I believe Seether's was "Fake It" and Evanescence's was "Call Me When You're Sober"

I was gonna comment the same… LiV should do both songs to chronicle the music history of Shaun and Amy’s post-relationship dedications lol

I think y'all need to understand the difference between copying and being influenced by. This guy has been influenced by, but is not copying a particular style of singing. An example of copying would be Puddle of Mud, did their best to duplicate Eddie Vedder's style of singing. Many singers did, which is where this sound originated from not Scott Stapp from Creed who was also influenced by Vedder.

I think it's hard to judge a particular band or vocalist based on one song. Seether arrived at the success they got to because over time, they developed a really unique style that was "just" close enough to grunge to catch a lot of the 90s grunge/alternative fans, but they also dipped their toes into the Nu-Metal genre when it was popping off. And the more songs you hear of theirs, Shaun Welgemoed's vocal style becomes extremely recognizable even among other bands that sound like Seether. Karma and Effect was a fantastic album. "The Gift" and "Remedy" are classics.

Maybe there is a reason why Creed and Nickelback are on most hated bands lists and Seether is not🤔.. Seether is still relevant today and they have helped me through many tough times. They deserve a revisit👍

Suggestions for Seether; 'Disseased', 'Pig', 'Breakdown', 'No Jesus Christ', 'Fur Cue', 'Hang On', 'Sold Me' are all great choices and if you want something to make comparisons with, Shawn Morgan's voice is great for covers. Check out there acoustic cover of 'Change' by the deftones. INCREDIBLE

Amy Lee and Sean Morgan (Seethers singer) were in a relationship at this time. They broke up because of his alcoholism and she wrote Call Me When You're Sober about him, which is also an amazing song. They both are great. I like several songs from Seether, they had a lot of radio play over the 2000s and love all of Evanescence and Amy since they came out. Both bands are still going strong.

Seether is Seether, they aren't copying anyone, influenced, sure, but you can't gauge a bands sound off of one song that unbeknownst to you is out of their normal sound.

You picked one of their most radio-friendly hits. Nickelback wouldn’t have been a band that paved the way for Seether as they both broke through in the same year. “Broken” was originally released in 2002 (three years before Nickelback’s “Photograph”, but two years after Creed’s “Arms Wise Open”. “No Jesus Christ” is one of my favorites from them.

The complaint about sounding alike cracks me up as I sure did include them on my Men Who Sound Alike station on Pandora proudly. It goes from Pearl Jam to Lifehouse to Seether to Daughtry and on and on. The lead singers of all these groups are reminiscent of each other so it's hilarious to hear them back to back but yes, I still hear the unique features of their voices song to song
