Take, break, shake it off, Wake from your slumber, Hey kids live to shock, Here comes the thunder, Time to make a choice, When you are older, Will this all be enough for you baby? I remember when, When we were younger, Hate, Love came and went, Still had each other, Young hearts, exploding minds of jealous lovers, Are you singing with me? They tell you Jesus walks but baby He'll just walk away, No matter what you do you're gonna have to fight someday, Fake smiles, seen them all, I just don't need it, Aim, fire, watch them fall, no warnings heeded, Fall down, get back up, ignore the bleeding, Every street, every town will follow you into the, Right fight every night, just keep on swinging, Stand fast hold your ground, you're doing great kid, Can't you hear the crowd, everyone's singing, Yeah you're singing with me, They tell you Jesus walks but baby He'll just walk away, No matter what you do you're gonna have to fight someday, Cause baby when it's you and me, we don't need guns to fight a war, We will never lose, If it's you and me, we've got a chance to live for more, We could make it through, singing, Oh no here we go, I'm not the only one who seems to know, you might get lonely, I know it's a lot to take in but, you've got to sing it with me, They tell you Jesus walks but baby He'll just walk away, No matter what you do you're gonna have to fight someday, Cause baby when it's you and me, we don't need guns to fight a war, We will never lose, If it's you and me, we've got a chance to live for more, We could make it through, singing, Woah woah hear it across the night till your ears are ringing, Woah woah We'll never give up the fight, we'll never stop singing, Hey now, dry those eyes, you will recover, No more compromise, for one-another, Stay strong fall and rise when it's all over, You'll be singing with me. They tell you Jesus walks but baby He'll just walk away, No matter what you do you're gonna have to fight someday, Cause baby when it's you and me, we don't need guns to fight a war, We will never lose, If it's you and me, we've got a chance to live for more, We could make it through,singing, Woah woah hear it across the night till your ears are ringing, Woah woah We'll never give up the fight, we'll never stop singing, Woah!! ian watkins good ending:
@calvinstraveldreams3 ай бұрын
I feel like whatever happens to him in prison, it will never be as painful as knowing that this good ending (where he and his band became legends and then retired right as Ian found and then married his true special someone) could have been his life if he had done even a few things differently, yet it is a life he will never have…also I honestly don’t think Ian was born evil (and frankly I disagree with the concept of being born evil-in no small part due to the cruelty towards CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS it has been used to justify (i.e. the often horrifically abusive “troubled teen” programs some particularly inept parents send their kids to)), but I wish that he could have found a better way to live with his burden rather than become a monster (also if I were to compare him with a monster or a demon, I would do so using the Japanese concept of demons as tormented souls who take their pain out on others due to an inability to be at peace with themselves), and maybe in another life he either stayed off the drugs or (under heavy supervision from his friends) took psychedelic mushrooms on rare occasions to expand his mind, got help for his psychological issues, and found that one special girl who could have been there for him and truly understood him (really Fearne Cotton and Alexa Chung strike me as too superficial and shallow for Ian to have TRULY loved, whereas Ian for all of his womanizing (and later despicable acts) actually strikes me as a genuinely deep thinker (in interviews, that is) in much the same way as XXXTentacion-except with the sin of lust rather than wrath dragging him down)…
@calvinstraveldreams3 ай бұрын
Also, what song did they play at the wedding in this alternate universe? If I were to hazard a guess, it would probably be Every Song (the B-side to 4AM Forever), which in a universe where Ian stayed off the drugs and got help (and thus never did all those awful things), might have become a popular-ish wedding song in the U.K., especially after being featured in either a YA novel-based movie, romcom film, or episode of a reality TV show…especially as Every Song really is the closest Lostprophets ever came to making a talent show ballad of the kind that dominated the U.K. Singles Chart in the 2000s, as it sounds like a mix of Coldplay and Oasis (with a lot of 90s adult alternative influence and maybe even some VERY early Radiohead influence) in the instrumental, with a vocal line that evokes Pop Idol/American Idol/X Factor winner singles and Celine Dion/Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston/Faith Hill ballads, albeit WITHOUT the semi-obligatory Truck Driver Gear Shift in the final chorus…
@calvinstraveldreams3 ай бұрын
However, I will say that in a better timeline where Watkins stayed off the drugs and GOT HELP BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE, Weapons wouldn’t have existed as it is, because most of the songs on it (except Young Pretenders (which even then might have been different) and the 4 Garage Sessions songs (which were recorded in 2007)) feel really phoned in and uninspired, at least by Lostprophets standards (this is one of the better ones, but it still feels like it’s missing something)-certainly compared to Start Something or (my favorite, especially if we include B-sides) Liberation Transmission. Also in said much better timeline Watkins would have had MUCH more vocal range-really on Weapons he showed less range than on Start Something and barely more than on FSOP (and with worse tone), when logically he should have kept gaining range and improving as a singer up to about age 40, and thus peaked in 2017-18 (he was 28 when Liberation Transmission came out and 34 when Weapons did, meaning that he lost range in an unnatural way-specifically due to possibly THE WORST drug addiction I have ever seen from a rock singer)…If Jesus Walks still exists in said alternate universe, it would probably have much higher singing, possibly with belted notes up to Eb5 and falsetto up to G5-Bb5, head voice in parts of the verses or pre-chorus, etc., as Watkins had by 2007 gotten his belting limit up to E5 (possibly F#5) and falsetto to G#5-and had demonstrated that he could use such high notes in choruses (the chorus of Every Song has sustained D5s, and that one was recorded in 2006 if I remember correctly). Really if Watkins had stayed off the drugs and gotten help he could’ve developed his singing voice into one truly out of this world…if only
