I find Ashrah's motivation incredibly wholesome. She assumed living was the endless suffering, misery, and ruin of the Netherrealm and when she saw that that is not the norm she was inspired to change. The character work in general here is really strong.

Fun Fact: Baraka was going to have his own solo game in the Mythology series, but they cancelled it because Mythologies: Sub-Zero failed miserably.

Shang being more of an alchemist in this game is a really cool take on him. His new VA is damn great, too - he _really_ sounds like a younger Tagawa.

@@ALexander-ue3kj Of course, but I think he’s leaning more towards alchemist here, especially when you look at his Fatalities and the stuff he does in the story, such as creating serum for Mileena and the experiments in his Flesh Pits (in older games, all we really saw in that angle was his creation of Mileena). Putting it another way, he’s more of a mad scientist this time, but not completely. I like it a lot, and it’s a cool direction to take him.

I love how Baraka and Reptile were handled/written in MK1. They're 2 of my favorite characters in this game, which is so awesome and refreshing because i didn't care about them at all in previous MK games. And their gameplay looks like so much fun.

I really like the new changes to the reboot. I love the new friendships and allies with Baraka and reptile. I REALLY hope it doesn’t quickly revert to the same ol teams and grudges that we’ve had to deal with for all the previous games, or at all for that matter. I want this reboot to stay different from all its predecessors.

I believe you should give Rain a chance! I won't spoil anything, in case you haven't gotten to his character ending just yet (I'm a bit late, I know) but I lowkey believe he's better in this timeline and he truly cares about Mileena and Kitana! Unfortunately, his ambition made him aim high and end up conspiring! Most characters have a chance for redemption imo! (excluding you quan chi 😂)

Did you not watch the MK11 Aftermath story? Shang Tsung fought and absorbed Kronika to become a Titan. He then tainted the hourglass (which was smart on his behalf) before Liu Kang stopped him.
