LOTR Evil Commander Guide v2.0 (Long Version)

This is a Commander Guide for Lord of the Rings Rise to War v2.0
I've mainly covered general stuff rather than specific builds, but I do include some specific builds at the end of the video.

IMPORTANT:
In this video I've used an old formula to represent the interaction between Attack & Defence.
The equation should be:
For each +1 Attack above the Enemy's Defence, Damage Dealt +0.7%
This then has a soft cap of +100, after which damage is only increased by 0.16%
I haven't been able to get confirmation on the equation for when Defence is higher than Attack.

Super good video, but 1 question. Does it matter what order i put the commander in when i edit my army? do the melee guy have to be the first one i put in? or how does it work? if you got a video for stuff like that then feel free to link it :)

There are some small things which the order affects, but it's very minor and not worth worrying about unless you're trying to do something very specific.

So melee units attack other melee units and not ranged. Do commanders attack at random or do commander attacks also prioritise melee units too?

Commanders will attack randomly (i.e. can attack anyone)

uhh, ugluk dmg commander? He's troop buffer. Also, Sauron has highest command by a bit

Ugluk is about as much of a Troop Commander as Lurtz is. As his base command is similar to Lurtz (12 vs 18) And Lurtz has most of the same "troop buff" abilities that Ugluk has. But Ugluk is essentially a hybrid. As a DD Commander he only has 1x Damaging ability And relies on the Damage from his relic's ability (Which is the equivalent of 6/10 on Pursuer if maxed) The White Hand is really strong, one of the best individual unit buffs on Evil But Outlaw and Uruk-Hai Elite are more hybrid abilities, as they also buff the Commander's Attack But the problem with Uruk-Hai Elite & Outlaw, is that if you discount the Commander Attack portion of them (By not using Commander Damage Weapons / Accessories), then these skills are really bad because the unit buffs they give are only the equivalent of what you'd get from Bloodlines instead. As you'd spend 30 points on Uruk-Hai Elite to get +28 Unit Attack (Total +28), or 30 points on Outlaw to get +35 Unit Attack -5 Unit Defence (Total +30) Comparatively, if you spent 30 points on Bloodlines, you'd get +15 Unit Attack +15 Unit Defence (Total +30) Ugluk also has extremely low base command When you compare his Command to say Glasha, Azru Khor or Gothmog, the real T2 Troop Commanders give their troops an extra +6% Damage Dealt -6% Damage received because they have much higher base command. Also you need to bear in mind too, that although Ugluk is designed to buff his Commander Attack / Unit Attack stats, so that he can be a "glass cannon". But it's a really ineffective design because there's a hard cap on how much +% damage you can gain from attack. With all of this in mind, it is highly likely that Ugluk's formation will deal more damage in a DD Commander build than in a troop commander build. Especially if he had his relic. Anyway, I hope that this answer helps you look at commanders and their skills a little bit differently, as comparing skills to the bloodlines talents is a good benchmark for most skills I think :)
