Love that side of Arizona Biggest nugget I’ve ever held in my hand was from quartzite. (26 g) wasn’t mine but was still cool to hold . If you only saw one person I’d guess it was Eli working his claim. Very nice nuggets you guys collected. There was a big storm there last fall and it flooded every wash out there and moves tons of material . I reckon that’s why you found those pieces so near the surface. There’s a lot of gold out there buried under that caleche but digging it with electric rhoto hammers is brutal work. Great adventure and well done adam nice to see you put a whooping on Boulder dash 😂😂 jk Boulder dash thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻

Nice finds and I didn't have to get a sore throat from the caleche dust watching you. Those cholla needles are brutally painful,too. Lucky for you the wind didn't blow any needles into you like what happened to me. It was about a month after I'd been down there when I felt a pain in my foot wearing the boots I'd worn on that trip and found a needle in the boot. It was about this time of year when I was with my 2 brothers on one of my brothers claim about 10 miles from Quartzite. I got a signal on a high bench but couldn't break it out of the crack.It might have been a hot rock.Found about a half gram of really tiny pieces in 3 days. I found more on the middle fork of the Yuba river in about 2 hours on a rest on the drive down from Washington to meet up with my brothers in San Diego. I enjoyed the wildlife with doves,rabbits and coyotes and lizards of all discription and not a drop of rain and pretty warm,too.

Wish I were there... Quartzsite is kind of close to Havasu, have you tried detecting around there? Question is it easier to use the Gold monster 1000 vs. the GPX6000? If which you probably do, which would you use? Thanks Dave...
@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK Жыл бұрын
I believe there is gold close to Havasu. You have to just go out there and try. The gold monster 1000 is really easy to use. But you have the best of both worlds with those two detectors for gold nuggets.

Thanks for the video! Nice finds, love the bedrock. The area I've been hunting has very little bedrock, but that's where almost all of the gold I've been finding has been. Any tips for hunting thick beds of paleo-placers with little to no bedrock exposed? I've been trying the gulches, ravines, and blow outs, but with no luck. I fear the gold has gone way to deep for a detector in these areas, so maybe I'm checking the wrong spots?

I just picked up an Equinox 800 a few days ago, I want to find at least one little nugget before we leave Quartzite for the summer but I don't know exactly where I can legally prospect in the Q, I was thinking of walking the washes ? But still the laws are so hard to understand and locate. What area has a claim? Etc etc. I have about 1 1/2 weeks to figure it out before we start heading north for the summer. I am also sad I couldn't find a Pointer for sale 😔 the only shop in town said hes having a hard time getting them and hes closing soon to Head to Alaska. A Garrett or a Minelab pointer is what I want not enough time left to order one online. Oh well. Anyway I've always been interested in this hobby since I was a kid and never had time until I retired. I was on call for work no life 😞
@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK Жыл бұрын
You really don’t need a pinpointer. Yes there are a lot of mining leases in Quartzsite that you definitely don’t want to be metal detecting on. You must learn how to research where claims are or join a prospecting club before you go to Quartzsite again. Otherwise, there is lots of gold In Alaska.
