Because there is surprise when summoning those scrolls since u can get LD monster from it. there a lot of player get LD nat5 from it. also this event is eventually the main reason for old player comeback to play summoners war. but the others event also great get to pick nat 5 and returning event. the best event i would say was the hoh event, since i didnt have many ld4s. I lost that account tho sadly, and started my current one too late but still that was a really good event. Not related but I've heard you talk about the lightning before and I agree, it should transition from the old lightning to blue or purple. The way it is now the summons just go by too fast, especially since they made the 1animations faster and even added a faster skip button.
