Animal abuse or death is a no go for me. I avoid books that have that element like the plague. Conversely, I love animal characters in books provided they aren't hurt or in danger.
@jaginaiaelectrizs63413 жыл бұрын
I will tolerate it if it is appropriately spoken out against in the story or if the the animals are rescued, sufficiently mourned/memorialized, avenged, or get their just revenges. But.. Yeah, definitely don't blame anyone who just nopes right out of it, no matter what. It's one of if not the ultimate one of my biggest ire raising thing(s), in addition to mistreatment of babies.
@art3mis8983 жыл бұрын
I agree with @Alyrica0505 I hate animal abuse but I like animal characters that aren’t harmed . I love it when they have a lovely parent . That is why I hated The Call of the Wild. That book had so much animal violence. The dogs were beaten and starved . They were in terrible freezing conditions. I can’t believe I had to read it for school.

Completely agree with you on This Close To Okay, I just felt like it was such a mess. Tally didn't feel like a therapist at all, she was crossing boundaries left and right. Omg finally someone else who didn't like Local Woman Missing! It was kind of middle of the road for me.

october was the best reading month i've had all year in terms of quantity (nine books) but as for quality... five 3 stars, two 4 stars, one 2 star and one 1 star, so. not amazing. the girl from the sea is one that i gave four stars to though, and i think you'd like that if you're in the mood for a quick graphic novel! and i also read heels over head by elyse springer, and while i gave it three stars, it's one i've thought about a lot in the last month. (i just wish the writing and ending had been a bit better.) and i think you'd probably like it!!

In My Dreams I Hold a knife by Ashley Winstead. I loved it sooo much. The messed up characters and the drama .I also read the sequel to Aristotle and Dante . That was great. I also read my first Colleen Hoover book this month , It Ends With Us . They were all great . But In My Dreams a Knife was the my favorite.

I think my favorite book last month was True Love Bites, by Joy Demorra. It’s book 1 in a five book series, and it’s a super sweet romance between a vampire and a disabled werewolf, as well as the beginning of their future polyamorous relationship with a witch. Highly recommend it! It’s super fun and cute!

I totally agree with your review of Claimed. I am a big JR Ward fan and I kept wondering when it was going to get better, confused that I was thinking this was a shifter romance but read like a bad thriller. Still don’t get the waste that was the cross over with Xhex. Instead of insta buy for the next one, I will wait to hear reviews first.

My favorite book this month was The Book of Names by Kristen Harmel. This is a book set in the time of the Holocaust. It is not romanticized (thank f**k) but there is a love story but it isn’t at the forefront and for most of the book it’s not spoken about even though you see it coming, and even then not explored… much. Great book 5 Stars, different.

I really liked Witchmark by C. L. Polk. I'm not sure if you've read this already. It took a little bit to get into and I'm finding that's just what happens with C. L. Polk books. I liked The Midnight Bargain better, but this one has less dystopian patriarchy and misogyny in it, so it's an easier read in that way.

Have you ever read Darynda Jones? The Charley Davidson series? Steamy, laugh out loud funny, I think you would like it, or her new series Betwixt and between.. The CD series is amazing on audio Lorelei King is a narrative goddess. I read Betwixt on paperback because Lorelei didn’t narrate. Also a new fave is K. F Breene The Magical Midlife Madness series is amazing. Keep in mind the covers are awful but the books are awesome in my opinion. I am on the “older side’ though. I’m 36 so we might have different tastes lol

It's too bad you didn't enjoy, "Devil in winter." I love the Wallflower series and consequently the Ravenel series. Maybe missing the set-up in the previous book made the difference. I adore seeing glimpses of them in later books about their children.

Excited for your upcoming vlogs. My fave book this month was probably What Lies Between Us by John Marrs. I ended up refunding Things have gotten weird since we last spoke, it was so disturbing to me lol.
@dishadharmraj69863 жыл бұрын
Things have gotten worse, was really gross for the sake of being gross, and it would have been ok if the ending had been better I felt like it was a huge let down the beginning alluded to some type of murder/death or at the very least a crazy ending and it felt flat And I've read that a lot of people who are part of the LGBTQIA community have had problems with the portrayal. I rarely ever say this but I think the book may have benefited from being maybe a hundred page longer because this felt like reading an incomplete first draft.
