Oh weight of pack? I like to keep mine at 12kg and watch it go down as I walk! But you might have some tips?

Loved the video. As far luxury items go, a chair has been in my pack for years now (and I’m under 40). The back support at the end of a day’s walking is worth some of the eye watering price tags. Lots of hikers I encounter that express an attitude towards chairs as being soft (or as one said, ‘piss weak’), nearly all have changed their tune when trying mine. They are worth it for the rest and supported recovery they provide.

I hear you... and I've heard the comments too, which I find sad and judgey... sigh. Sit and be happy!

I'm a recent convert to carrying a chair, a Helinox ground chair and all I can say is, I don't know why I waited so long.

Great video! Do you take sun, cold weather, or waterproof gloves?
@LotsaFreshAir2 ай бұрын
Thanks! It would depend on the season and forecast. On this trip I did take a pair of cold weather gloves. If I'm walking off track in to the scrub, I also take leather scrub gloves, which can double as cold weather gloves.

Always love a good ‘what’s in my pack’ video. The chair looks super comfy. Can I ask what it is?

Too comfy... it's dangerous that way. It's a Helinox Ground Chair. My affiliate link: t.cfjump.com/39499/t/64164?Url=https%3a%2f%2fwww.snowys.com.au%2f

The packable over pants, what do you recommend please, I have Gortex storm pants but are bulky?
@LotsaFreshAir Жыл бұрын
Good question Dave and my answer depends on the season, forecast and trip. For this one, where no rain was forecast, March in the Gramps, I went with a cheapie, packable pants. I've just looked on the Macpac site and can't see them listed there anymore, but from memory they were

Hi Caro, thanks for a very informative video. Just wondering what the weight of your pack is on day one. I struggle if my pack is much over 18kg these days - and I can only get there if I leave my hiking chair at home :(
@LotsaFreshAir11 ай бұрын
Hey Rob, Hmm, I think it was about 16kg ish. I had a food drop + pickup in Halls Gap. The hot days added water weight.

Is there any place to charge my phone on the trail? Otherwise I’m going to need to have some chargers in my food drop. Thanks!

Loads! Each campsite has USB charging station. Just bring a cable.
