Gonna flex my disney knowledge here. Arthur turned into a bird, got chased down into Mim's house by a hawk. The wizard duel happened because Merlin showed up to rescue Arthur and Mim challenged him. xD

Awesome game guys. Madam Mim looks pretty good and beginner friendly, while Lotso definitely needed a little more strategy. I like that though and the game seemed pretty even throughout. I can't wait to see Syndrome next time!

The point deduction counters are meant to be used for anything and everything in Lotso's deck that alters strength, hat included (the confusion around Rex on Turn 13 being a key example as to why, as it can get confusing). The treatment you guys did initially with Rex was also correct, he would've been on -1 Strength (the video edit you inserted at 35:26 is wrong). Yes Rex cannot lose strength when other Heroes are at his location, but his rule book states that when a hero is at zero strength, (which he was because of the hat), their ability no longer applies... So he would have been reduced again when factory settings was played, putting him onto -1 strength, despite there being another hero where he was as his effect was nullified by being on zero strength. Then when Woody's hat was removed, he would've returned to 0 strength.

Hi, I ran into this yesterday. But the rule book in FAQ page 18 says that heroes with 0 they are still counted and heroes, therefore rex ability would trigger since there are other heroes at his location even if it's 0. I think it was a mistake by Disney because is almost impossible to defeat rex (only using Strench ability)

@@fernandogalindez807 Incorrect. Within the FAQ section, there is also a part on "What if the text on a card or in a Villain Guide conflicts with the instructions?" It clearly states here that the Villain Guide takes precedence. Anything in the small Villain handbooks overrules the main rules for that character. In Lotso's Villain Guide under "Reducing Heroes Strength", it also clearly states "Unlike the normal rules, if a Hero in Lotso's Realm is at 0 strength, they cannot use their ability".

Dont know if anyone answered but in the movie Bird Arthur gets lost and crashes through the chimney of Mims cottage. Archimedes sees this and goes to get Merlin. Less of a visit and more of a rescue.

Alright! I tested out on Madam Mim, & her strategy is exactly like in the movie. I already watched the movie & Arthur just encountered Madam Mim before Merlin comes in.

I think the best way to slow down Mim (when the opponent is not lucky to always have the exact transformation needed every turn) is to constantly fate her...fer fate deck is small so Arthur will be returning to damage the hand of the player. Also I believe it is perhaps better to bring back discarded transformations (Merlin) or change the current transformation (Archemedes) rather than just moving meriln's transformation around cause the opponent has been preparing for that specific transformation and will temporarily panic if the plan is changed. But yeah it is difficult to completely bamboozle Mim without having to sacrifice your progress. Awesome play!

Whenever I have played Disney Villainous (I have never played the Marvel one and probably will not get the Star Wars one), it has largely ended with all players being one action away from winning when someone managed it. But it is always better with more than two players - some villains like Dr. Facilier is hard to win against with just two (because not enough cards will dilute the "possible victory" pile of cards).

I'd agree. That's normally how I have felt it goes with more than 2 players. 1v1 is really its own beast.

I’m definitely getting this set for madam mim the other two have tasks that are complicated enough and their fate decks are so brutal that you get nowhere with syndrome or lotso

EDIT: nevermind, I have re-read the rules and I'm the one playing wrong lol Although I'll probably continue playing like this, just feels fairer I'm still on turn 1, and haven't seen this in the description, but Jim mentioned it would be nice to start out in the forest... on the 1st turn you can go anywhere, your starting position should be where the objective/description is. Anyway, off to watch the rest of the video :)

I goofed when I first played Mim, because I didn't realize I was supposed to bring out a new Merlin transformation every time one is defeated, so it took forever because I had to bring them out myself. I do think she seems pretty easy to play, and also has easy conditions to trigger. Don't think it came up in this video, but what do you think of her having her 2 fate actions both at the bottom of the board? That's a first for any villain, always having the ability to fate on her next turn. Excited to see Syndrome, especially because some of his rules regarding the final Omnidroid and the remote were a little confusing out the gate. Also - really nice touch highlighting which actions were used up on your location as you played each turn.

Yeah totally understandable things to do when learning new characters to play, in any game for that matter. Yeah having both gates at the bottom of the board is…interesting to say the least 😂. Appreciate the comments!

Hi just to ask (Correct me If I'm wrong) but I think there always has to be a merlin transformation at the dueling grounds because I think I seen a tactic where you just move then around to get new ones, just wanting to know if this is correct before I play mim completely wrong😂😂 Edit: I know I'm a little late but I loved the video❤️

@@hobbiesnhappinessif you look at Mim’s guide it says that once Merlin Transformation has been defeated you must draw a Merlin Transformation and pay them to the dueling grounds. I noticed you didn’t do this on your first vanquish.

Yeah, luck certainly plays a big part in the game. I mean I got beat by Scar while playing as Lady Tremaine. I had everything set up but the gosh darn Ball Invitation was at the very bottom of my deck 😒

It's a fantastic combination of luck and skill! Discarding frequently to get to the bottom of the deck is often very important for many characters, and in Lady Tremaine's case, she also has a condition card titled "And One More Thing" that you can play during the opponent's turn to help get deeper into her deck. Playing that correctly is key to winning with her.

Please help me. When i play "something snapped" does the card discarded mean just a card discarded from a discard token action or does discarding a card mean anything that goes into a discard pile?

Turn 2 u killed a merlin transformation goat with dragon u had to placed another to duling grounds in the strategy book it says everytime madam defeats merlin transformation another has to be played
