That’s a fabulous build. I used to build Tamiya F1 back in the 80s. The results were good but yours are next level.

A really nice build Thomas and I'm going to start this myself in a day or so. I like your added touches with the wiring and trumpet cover which really set the model off. Keep up the great work Cheers from Oz.

Thanks Alan, I really enjoyed this one. The biggest issue I found with it was where the numbers go together on the sides. There's a bit of carrier film which goes over the edge and obviously you want the upper and lower half of the circles to match up well. Good luck from GB!

@@BOABModels They are good, the Tyrrells are easier to get hold off, not quite Tamiya but close, the only thing to watch was when attaching the engine to the monocoque, you have a screw to do that, just don't over tight it. Otherwise, I know you'll do the models justice with your skills.

This wonderful beauty, the iconic Lotus 25 is the personification of: JIM CLARK - By far the greatest driver ever - no doubt. He is and was "The Best of the Best" (Fangio and Senna about Clark). No other driver in history until today was so superior as Clark - No other driver as so much "Grand Slam" - Pole/Win/Fastest Lap/Leading every lap of the race - like him. And all that from just 72 starts... ! This man is the Olymp of driving - the Michelangelo of racing - a dynamic art at the highest level. So smooth, so precise, so fast....simply out of this world. One, who won in Spa by 5 minutes (!) in monsoon rain with only one hand at the wheel (!) because of gearbox trouble...One, who takes back a complete lap (!) in Monza and back into the lead... One, who took pole on the original 22,8 km Nürburgring track by 9 (!) seconds and more....One who won Indy by 2 whole (!) laps...For eternity and by lightyears unmatched in the sport. That`s just four examples of his mesmeric unique genius...

A legend of the sport and very humble too. I think he too often gets missed out when discussing the greatest drivers of all time.
@LeoWuerde Жыл бұрын
@@BOABModels Yes, a perfect Gentleman he was. I don`t think so, he is widely regarded worldwide as the "Best of the Best". Maybe among the clueless he gets missed... ;-)

That's a lovely Lotus you have build here. I especially like the mesh you have made on top of the engine cover. It looks much better then the original kit part. I just had your channel in my recommendations. You have made some videos I will definitely take a look in. I already subscribed. Regarding the Lotus 25: Most versions without the yellow stripe also have a different windscreen. If you want to build an all green version, the easiest way is to build the car from the Dutch Grand Prix 1963. It was the only race with the windscreen included in the kit and without the yellow stripe. Even the 'Team Lotus' writings on the sides and the 'Lotus Coventry Climax' writing were missing. You will just need the Lotus badge on the nose and the startingnumber 6 which is available at indycals.
@BOABModels2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much, Steffen. I find small touches like the mesh can make a big difference. Good tips about the early version of the car too. I've seen that Indycals do a lot of of alternative liveries for historic cars

Would be great if they would detail the why's and wherefore of the Coventry climax pumper engine and how it evolved. Imto a race car engine.

Lovely build! Any ideas what green was used? I'm going to be building a Lotus 33 soon, but in 1/64 scale, with many small parts. I'm dreading it haha.

It was Tamiya TS-43 which is designed for this car. Tweezers help at that sort of scale. Good luck!
