Good to see it coming along nicely. Notice a few differences with mine. 1. All screws were slotted not philips. 2. The door handle/ashtray doesn't have the wooden platform. 3. Mine doesn't have the spacer block behind the angle bar, relies upon the give do to the uneven lengths to keep snug the armrest behind. I like the use of the Rivnuts, a sensible mordern solution, I still have (stainless) self-tappers. Also I've never tried to put it in as one piece, I have taken the armrest/fibreglass bit out as one and the card separately - less unweildy?. I also lost one of my fibreglass bits and can vouch that a lot of water can come in there so you may want to bond in a hose down to the lower door compartment.

The door trim on the car was definitely not original. I assumed the fixings and the internal metal parts would have been original. The large holes and use of the rubber wellnuts/rawlnuts were already in the doors, so I'd assumed that was original. Thanks for the tip about the water ingress.

I went to a talk by Ron Hickman where he commented that the S2 doors weren't their greatest hour. Understatement of the decade I think.
