Excellent repair work on a beautiful Lotus! And I agree, you should have never let go of this machine.

Thanks for the video Steve. I remember this restoration from when you originally bought the car. Fiberglass shells are light, which allows more efficiency but repairs seem to me to be much more complicated than on a metal skin. Your final product looked great. Your comment regarding the sale of the car gave the impression you have some regret. Perhaps you will find another that will require your skills in the future and we will benefit from watching that restoration as well.

The restoration started a few years ago, if I remember correctly. I’ve been eagerly waiting to see the final product since then, and it turned out great!

This is epic. I've loved all of your videos, you take great time in explaining. It's why I always wanted you to do a coolant tutorial because there are no good ones out there and I know you'd do it right. I'm sad that you sold it.

I would be concerned about the choice of glue for the crashbox to frame connection - were you not able to find what the factory / a dealer would be using for this joint?
@D3Sshooter2 ай бұрын
No reason to worry, that is the stuff that is used in Lotus garages. I actually talked to them, and they adviced this. as they use it as well.

can you explain how the ajustable balljoints work please as I've never heard of them before and where can you buy them Thanks
@D3Sshooter2 ай бұрын
Those are adjustable in terms of stiffness, by placing more pressure or not on the ball the responsiveness and stability of the vehicle.is affected. This can be particularly beneficial for performance driving or racing, where precise suspension tuning is essential. (more stiff , means also more feedback)

After so much effort and time spent on this lotus, it is sad that you sold it, as a viewer of your channel, I wish you had kept it and enjoyed it at least for a while, and shared these moments with other viewers as well! I hope you don't sell the Citroën!!

That was a truly fantastic repair Steve, very thorough. I have an Opel Speedster that needs similar work, but much less damage and I'm intimidated. Would you consider working together?
