Here's a collection of relatively unloved and relatively affordable classic Lotus's that are stylistically fantastic, the Lotus Excel, Eclat and Elite. Talk about a practical classic that you could use every day.
The styling is so evocative of the time, with a wonderful whiff of John Player Specials and Roger Moore Bond. Whats not to like???

My boss who owned the alarm and security company I worked for in my first sales job used to have one of these, just like the gold one in the video. Absolutely fabulous to look at and even better to have a lift in ! The road holding for the time was a revelation and made everything else seem like a horse carriage . Oh how I wish I had been let behind the wheel.

Strange how I owned 2 Excels and and Eclat yet today I see the Elite as being ahead in shape and design and being years ahead of the other two.

My late father bought a new 501 in 1976 at Len Street Motor in Chelsea.It fell apart....🥴He sold it,and bought a Porsche 911 Turbo.

Depends on condition. But easy to work on and upgrade to more modern suspension, brakes, drive train etc if you like a project.
