@@enfantterrible4868 it doesn't bro. hardplastic glovebox?? hardplastic doorpanel, the airvents feels like cheap when you rotate them, the roof control unit, falls off when you grab it a bit harder, the headrests full of plastic, instead of the old metalrods. this list is endless. every single part of the car feels cheaper and is cheaper for mercedes. the engine mounting is of plastic bro. electric seats, no more standard in that car. double rollo in the trunk, gone. watershields on front window not painted anymore, but rubber. sunglassbox, before covered in velvet, now in plastic. w206 is a shit box.

Will be hard tuning this i4 more than 500hp. It needs much more cooling because the engine is fitted on the rear of the car. I heard Lotus already kinda struggled with the cooling on the basic i4 but made it in the end. Unlike the AMG cars , they get cooling easier because engine is at front

I drove a tuned CLA45s (new type) with just under 500 HP for a few days, that thing would run hot also very fast and limit performance as a result. Cooling is key with these engines.

Lotus de-tuned the engine not only to let the v6 have more power in the line-up, but also because that engine CAN handle that amount of power and torque (421hp-500nm) only if it’s placed in the front of the car, having way way better cooling than if it was put on the back. So they lowered the power due to the fact engine cant really handle that power without being cooled hard as on the front of the car.

Solution, tune it back to those A45 numbers if not even higher. Also, a Transmission tune could work some magic too. It will need much more improved cooling to get any more out of it, these I4s run pretty hot

Well done for noticing the issue with the front brake. High speed vibration and excessive brake dust are both clear signals of a brake dragging. Not sure who supplied the car in this condition, but that’s obviously not good… I suspect this is entirely the cause of the higher-speed actual vs claimed performance though - there is no reason why a non-faulty 365 bhp Emira should be so much slower than a series1 EvoraS that has 350bhp….

I drove the V6 and was very disappointed with it. But I really want this model to be good, because if you're like me and think that most supercars are too big and fast for the road but still want the supercar presence and experience then this is the car for you. But unfortunately the Alpine A110 is way more fun to drive.

To say that singles, V-twins, inline-twins, triples, V-fours, inline-fours, V-fives, inlive-fives, V-sixes and inline-sixes have no merit is absurd. I suspect Harley enthusiasts will *not* be impressed when you tell them their V-twin is "not a real engine"! You are basically saying a Jaguar XJ6 doesn't have a "real engine" but a Jaguar XJ12 does. That's ridiculous. It's the *SAME* basic engine, just doubled. Similarly inline-fours and V8s are alike -- the Lotus Espirt V8 was literally based on two Lotus twin-cam inline-fours after all, just as the Cosworth DFV V8 is based on two Cosworth DFA inline-four engines, complete with two water pumps and two oil pumps, or even the most famous V8, the Ford flathead V8, is two Ford flathead inline-fours (but with the flatplane crankshaft layout replaced with a crossplane one). @@fwootjuice A Yamaha V8 with flatplane crank would be lovely! Like the one in the Volvo V8 Supercar. The combination of 60-degree V8 and flatplane crank gives a very unique sound, and of course the Volvo Yamaha V8 is already designed for transverse installations. Whether it meets Euro 6E or Euro 7 emissions is quite the more pertinent question though, unfortunately.

Heck even the Ferrari 360 and F430 with larger longditudinal V8s weigh about the same as the Emira (the same chassis type: aluminium spaceframe too, so it's all like-v-like). Heck, even the Lotus Esprit V8 weighs -- about the same as the Emira V6 (well the Espirt V8 weighs 1380kg, add modern safety systems and you get to the Emira's weight of about 1500kg). I don't see why it can't be done. 🙂

@TassieLorenzo those are old cars. They were shit. Good for their time. Basically fatal crash at any speed. No comfort. Little v8 engines that weren't reliable. The f430 is also in times were there weren't this much regulations. They should put a daza 2.5 tfsi in the lotus emira. Perfect balance. Very good tuning and reliability and with a right exhaust setup and higher rev limiter it sounds like a r8.

Within the first two minutes you've made two errors. The V6 auto is 6 speed not 8 - and no they didn't de-tune it so that it would be less than the V6 - they had to de-tune it to be able to keep it cool enough. You'd think with 3.9m subscribers you'd do your homework a little better.

My 45 S AMG war a horror car, 17 weeks under repair in the guarantee time.. Never buy a german car, becaus the factory does not help in the guarantee time. It´s a FAKE and SHAME!
