This is Part 1 of our full review of the brand new Lotus Emira! We have been waiting a long time for these new Emiras to arrive in New Zealand, and we are very fortunate to have access to film and share with you this beautiful Dark Verdant Emira with Touring Spec! It's amazing to see how much improvement and design upgrades Lotus have done to set the Emira apart from the older Evora, Elise, and Exige models. It is now a brilliant all-rounder that is practical, capable, well built, and stunning to look at.

Excellent informative review. FYI the front hood does indeed open, but it’s for servicing only. 👍

Hi, thanks for the positive comment. Yes, you need tools to open the front hatch, unlike the Exige where there is just a latch.

Nice detailed review. Minor correction at the 6:30 mark of the video…the Emira does come staggered. See below. Tire size: F:245/35R20 R:295/30R20 Wheel size: F:8.5Jx20 ET57 R:10.5Jx20 ET54

Nice, thank you for clarifying, we assumed staggered meaning different alloy wheel sizes, but you are right, staggered also means different width tire sizes front and back.

Awesome walk around! The one thing I found odd was the constant "previous model" talk refering to the Exige/Elise rather than the much more similar, newer, and more modern Evora. Either way, looks like a very solid car. I'll likely never be able to afford one but excellent work from Lotus on this one.

After watching both this entire video and the second it made more sense. I actually just purchased my first this year. A 2011 Evora. I've always loved Lotus and to finally purchase one was a dream come true. So happy with it! I do love the Exige though, maybe one day!@@sundaymorningdrives

@sundaymorningdrives I'm absolutely loving it. It's my daily driver and is going to stay that way. Had no intention of having a garage car. I have yet to bring it to a meetup but do plan to soon. I wish I had the geography you guys had where I live. Such awesome roads with great views! You've gained a subscriber out of me, can't wait to check out your other videos. Haven't even seen your Exige videos yet.

Yes apparently the dealer can spec this when you order your car, I'm sure you can get one later too. At least this is how its done in NZ

Nice review, thank you. One correction: you can use your phone for navigation, but the car does come with built-in navigation too! My car came 5 weeks ago. It works like a peach.

@@sundaymorningdrives I'm actually in Belgium. Recent drives to Germany and The Netherlands were perfectly guided by the onboard system. Which means that continental Europe is loaded into the system. If not available in NZ, hopefully Lotus will provide the NZ maps in an update. When back at the dealership recently some other issues were already ironed out through software updates, so Lotus seem to take updating the board software seriously...
