Mate….. nine years… NINE YEARS!… 9 yrs…. 0x1001 years…. 2014 to 2023 years. For 9 years I had my Evora and KNEW there was a subwoofer, I’ve been through all menu settings, I concluded the sub was broken, I disassembled half the car to get to the dmn thing! still no succes. I gave up… I mean, I don’t have the lotus for it’s musical qualities… but I wanted to give it another try and ended up with your video. So…. Thank you mate … THANK YOU. (now tell me you also have a solution for the non functional blue tooth 😁)

Hahaha. I'm very happy to hear this. One of my hobbies is a musician. So it really irked me when the subwoofer was there and I couldn't hear it. As far as the Bluetooth goes, I will say that the alpine unit that's in there is a bit finicky. But I have a new unit going in soon. By the end of the summer I should have a video on it. Hopefully it is truly plug and play as described.

It’s easy and extremely worthwhile to add rear speakers too. You’ll find that all Lotus did was just connect fronts and leave the rear outputs unused. All you have to do is install speakers and connect them to those unused rear outputs. BTW, my car is a 2012. It has the Pioneer head unit. The head unit had left and right RCA sub outputs, and those were bridged to feed the single sub. As I stated above, the front speakers used the front speaker high level outputs, and the rear output leads just hung there unused. When I replaced the factory head unit so I would have CarPlay, I connected the sun and the fronts just as they had been, and I added a pair of rear speakers connected to the high level rear outputs.

I really had the same issue however, my fix was that I found out that the Subwoofer power(red) wire was NOT connected to the back of the head unit ... no idea why ?! anyway now im enjoying the bass out of it !

I appreciate this. However, I don't think my 2018 Evora has subwoofers. I did find the settings screen and the subwoofer control did not respond to touch like the other ones.

Hmm. I Believe it was one of the tech packages. So perhaps if you didn't have that it doesn't have a woofer. But you should be able to see through the rear speaker wire mesh guard. Use a flashlight and shine it in there to see if there's actually a speaker cone inside the wire mesh speaker guard. I originally thought I didn't have a subwoofer in my car. But after looking I realized I did.

It's just the standard sub from lotus. Good enough for me.

Funny, first day I got my Evora GT, I'm like... I definitely have the subwoofer and amp option on my car... Poke around in the settings and sure enough, it was off and on zero by default. Radio is different on the 400/GT but the sub on/off option is the same. I turned my sub up to 6 though as 15 was way too high (kids sit back there).

Completely agree! Not a very intuitive system. Funny that they still have it set up similar in the Evora GT. Beautiful cars those new GTs. Thanks for the comment!

Yes. It's a really awkward setup. They must have put the intern in charge of the audio development. Lol
