Couple questions I’m having issues with. I have a 2012 speed with Bose. Installing the same head unit and doing the exact same as you, my steering wheel controls do not function and there’s a pretty noticeable static from the speakers without audio playing. Any ideas?
@GoodmorningGoodnight
@GoodmorningGoodnight 3 күн бұрын
@@kyleseppala383 make sure it's grounded. Improper grounds cause a lot of problems. Check your connections. Ultimately mine was plug and play. For the steering wheel controls. You can also manually program them through one of the apps on the head unit. I think it's called "controls". Finally if you're still having problems. Contact Eonon customer support. I reached out to them once when I needed to update my firmware over the Air. They were helpful and responded.

Hi, I stumbled across your video. It’s super helpful. I was wondering did you need to attach the GPS antenna to the dash or windshield and did you also install the external microphone to your Mazda3?
@GoodmorningGoodnight
@GoodmorningGoodnight 3 күн бұрын
@@anthonyl4894 gps antenna unnecessary unless you're using the head unit with cell service alone ( without a phone). It has the ability to be used as a standalone system. If you have the phone connected by Android auto or Apple carplay then it will use the phone GPS automatically. For the microphone. There's one built into the face of the unit. Next to the power button. Works well.

@@super679theoriginal not that I know of. The Plack is supposed to work without at tube. Louder and much lighter than stock. Also deletes one of the 3 catalytic converters. My biggest problem with the Plack is that it's actually a little bit droney on highway trips. The drone occurs right around 3,000 RPM. But that's pretty much where you are on the highway all the time. And unless you shift down to a lower gear and run the RPMs up to 4,000rpm that drone pretty much is there. So if you are going to do a lot of commuting in your car, I don't recommend the plack exhaust

Whenever I torqued my wheels to spec on my Evora they would make clicking noises in turns. After another half turn they were always quiet. I'm skeptical if Lotus thought through the wheel bolt torque spec rating.
@GoodmorningGoodnight
@GoodmorningGoodnight 3 ай бұрын
I had an issue on track where I was taking an aggressive line over a curb and after that my wheel had a shimmy. It felt like it was out of balance. I thought maybe I had lost a wheel weight. But no. I just had to loosen the wheel bolts and then tighten them back down and it re-centered the wheel. So I'm definitely on board for a bit More torque on the wheels.
@super679theoriginal
@super679theoriginal 3 ай бұрын
Yoooooo IS THAT what the clicking is??? Ive been doing manual spec torque, but last time I heard clicking I took a look and found a rear right axle boot rip. I attributed it to that, but it has come back! I'm going to torque down and I'll check back in in a month. Unless I have another boot rip 😅

My honest review is that I'm very happy with the new head unit but I bought it used from a friend. I do like the Alpine unit and I would just make sure that any new Alpine would use the same connectors. What I'm saying is don't feel like you need to search out this specific model to be a happy. I would recommend other alpine models as long as they have the similar connector.

Of course, sorry about that. I was thinking after I tried to do a clutch bleed on my Evora 400 that I would love to see one done by someone with good production value like you. The 400 doesn't allow access to the clutch slave bleeder from the bottom, so you need to go in from the top and somehow reach down in on the front of the engine--without being able to see what you are reaching for--all the while kneeling in the trunk. I was able to get my finger (one finger) on it twice in two hours of trying and so decided it best to take to the dealer. I realize your car is different than mine--it's been a long winter, I guess.
