Thanks John. Isn't it amazing that almost ten years after you posted this people like me are still learning from you.

Wiki - " In performing a double stop, two separate strings are depressed ("stopped") by the fingers, and bowed or plucked simultaneously (without a string change)." Keep these videos coming - I have played forever and am learning tons from you - thanks for putting all this time and effort in - you should put all this stuff together and sell it - it is gold dust.

Your videos are great. I am expanding my volcabulary, ops' did I spell that right?.... and learning the banjo at the same time. I always look forward to your next lesson. Thanks

First I must say that your lessons are brilliant and you are a great teacher generously offering brilliant detailed instruction on theory and the 5 string - you are second to none that I have come across so am sorry to be a a bit pedantic but unison notes are not 'double stops' they are unison notes. The 'stop' bit means that the strings are stopped by the fingers creating two-part harmonies. I have run out of characters to will post a second comment.

Yes, i know fiddlers use this term differently, but it serves my purpose for banjo, haha.
