Utah: finished the 2008 season an amazing 13-0. The Utes defeated Alabama 31-17 in the Sugar Bowl. This tremendous win boosted Utah up to No. 2 in the final AP poll and No. 4 in the final USA Today poll. Army: finished the 2008 season a disappointing 3-9. This game was added to the schedule to commemorate the ND-Army rivalry at old Yankee Stadium. This game will be the first ever football game played at new Yankee Stadium.

@colefernandez47 They schedule seasons in advance. You never know what could happen next year. This is just last years statistics. Tulsa: finished the 2008 campaign 11-3 with a win over Ball State in the GMAC bowl. Tulsa had one of the most explosive offenses in the nation averaging over 50 points per game. TCU: finished the 2008 season 11-2 with a big win over a tough Boise State team in the Poinsettia Bowl. Both the USA Today and the AP had TCU ranked No. 7 in the nation in their final poll.

I don't know the date, but I thought it would be interesting to see Holtz's comments about two of the worst decisions in college football history - hiring Weiss, then giving him 30 million extension in the middle of his first year. Objectively, ND hasn't beat more than a couple of ranked opponents in 10 years - congrats against MSU this year - but it's not your falut. You don't play ranked opponents.

@@2barfootball I never liked Kelly, but.... You cant deny that he was a great coach at ND. They had some shots at the Championship. Finished at the top a few different years. They were awful during the Weiss years. And now that Kelly is gone, they're probably going to go back to being awful until they find another good coach. Kelly produced teams that were better than 99% of the other CFB teams in the nation multiple years. Those are facts, and just because you don't like him, doesn't mean he is a bad coach

@@2barfootball He was good against pretty much anyone with wins against Clemson, OU. Michigan, USC, and kept it respectable in his last playoff game. No other coaches have competed with Clemson, Bama, or UGA besides those 3 schools. So he's better than hundreds of other head coaches that have came and went since he started there. But believe what you want, and ignore the facts. That will get you back to 4 win seasons with another Charlie Weiss that Notre Dame had to pay for multiple years after he was fired
