@robertcame I AGREE. I HAVE A L L OF HIS EARLY BEST ALBUMS. HE HAD IT ALL. BUT HE WAS A MEAN BULLY IN PRIVATE EVEN TO HIS CLOSEST ONES. His disco turns me OFF. Just as w another neglected black male legend - A.Prysock. He just has 2 decent pure jazz albums out of 30 or so total; the rest ruined w either watered down jewish strings or w the moronic disco beat. BUT PRYSOCK S BASS BARITONE WAS/-IS A MIRACLE !!! CHUCK JACKSON WE TALK NEXT ...he just died in 2023. Very underrated. Too much Vegas ruined LOU. Buy the J. Hartman bio by Gregg Akkerman, check his ch ! 🇫🇮

Love Lou Rawls.saw him twice. took my sister to see him at The Orleans in Las Vegas for her birthday and I walked up to the stage and during intermission and I told him it was my sister's birthday would he sing a song for her and he did I love Lou Rawls no one sounds like him

@38' IRMA THOMAS has the best evvuhh version of THE WIND BENEATH MY WINGS. It is on her 1st Rounder BREAKIN THE RULES or sth, 86 or 5. Lou here stays stranded, jaded, superficial, void of feeling - 2 assembly-lined, installed .. uneven ...even.
