This concert was Lou Rawls’ first live performance in the Netherlands. It took place at the North Sea Jazz Festival 1989 at the Congressgebouw, The Hague, The Netherlands.
Louis Allen Rawls (December 1, 1933 - January 6, 2006) was an American recording artist, actor, voice actor, songwriter, and
record producer.
He performed the following songs:

Thanks! I grow up on his music like so many others. The music he sings is the life I observed from my grandparents and parents so I copied them and how they talked and understood each other because they showed each love and loved Us as children growing up. Life it’s self wasn’t perfect but the love shared by them to Us was perfect that’s what I remembered. Remember the driest time your eyes strayed towards that boy or girl and that feeling of interest came over you but you just smiled and keep it moving because you was bashful oh I’m talking about the 60’s and 70’s not the 80’s, 90’s or these 2000’s cause love is just a word nowadays sorry for those youngsters that have this gangster rap music and street gangs to teach them that you have to be hard and feelingless, the young girl that’s dancing in clubs on poles for some wolfs pleasure. Sorry you’ll never experience the free gift of love that our creator gave to us to express His love to each other but Satan has given y’all lust in place of the Greatest Love of all, it’s yourselves. Feel bad that I never gave this man his credit while he was living. Not only was he a great performer but he did so much for education and truly trying to uplift black people through educational opportunities with the United Negro College Fund.

Ohhhh yess.....we were there!!.....that was a very good Jazz Festival.....the crew from Bentwaters was up in da house.....Den Haag.....The Netherlands....we had a ball!!!.....Mac and Dee were there.....yessssss!!.....we were in the 2nd level......Lou Rawls voice is really Velvet🙏........other greats were there too......thanks Doc&Sue for putting that week long trip together ❤ for friends stationed at Bentwaters RAF England.......North Sea Jazz Festival July 1989......Dizzy Gillespie.....Chaka Kahn....Bobby Blue Bland and other greats were in da house....ppl from all over da 🌎 we walking through the tents meeting some of Da Greatest Blues/Jazz Artist......so glad we were there🥰🙏❤
