The perfect rendition of this song would be Lou singing the lead and Laurie singing it back. Oh, thanks! This brought me to tears. It is just perfect!

Oh God... Lou's voice ! Again talking about it.Lous voice is beautiful, magic, it conveys emotions in a way that is incredibly rare.If you want to say that is sometimes flat tone ,fine that it is not what matters ,no when your art is you heart a.Is not a melodical voice like Dylan's is not one, or even Jagger's .They just GIVE you the words their on way and in Lou's case is dark soft velvet just stroke it on your chicks and hush.

Part of Lou's genius, along with some of his other pals, was not only to reinvent themselves, but also to reinvent the songs to fit where they were in their lives, like great literature (or a dirty French novel). He was able to do that here, not only by realizing his own limitations, but by incorporating Anderson and the times. This is not an oldies tour, but a reinvention of the artist and the song.

@posthumanhero if he was singing it "note copied" to the version waxed on vinyl that you want to hear again and again then yes...he would be bored. Like some sad ass going to the office on the same train at the same time on the same day next week. Lou Reed, Like Bob Dylan are showing us how to age like a good wine, better as they get older....A gift. Metallica are old bongwater.
