While enrolled at Syracuse University, he studied under poet Delmore Schwartz, who he said was "the first great person I ever met", and they became friends. He credited Schwartz with showing him how "with the simplest language imaginable, and very short, you can accomplish the most astonishing heights." -- this is what made LOU an iconic figure.

I can only imagine how amazed and/or flabbergasted Anthony (now Anohi) must have been when he/she got the call to be the backing singer for Lou Reed on this show. Can you imagine how amazing that must be, to have one of the greats asking you to sing backup for them? I would be happy to do so! Plus the contrast between Antony’s rather clean, soft vocals and Lou’s gravelly and speak singing works especially well here.

Mick ronson, bowies early 70's guitar legend, born in my home town Hull, was also responsible for the production of this album, he also played piano and did the string arrangement for this song. Sadly his contribution to this album, and also bowies early work is often overlooked, both lou reed and david bowie tilt their caps to Ronson crediting him as a great guitar player and all round musician, and also for being a top bloke all round.
