As a 36 year old millennial who’s been rocking with Tyler since Bastard, pissed me off when my peers laughed at me when I said Tyler was/is one of the most talented artists of our generation. It’s like that can’t disconnect him from clips they’ve seen from his goblin days. I finally got one of my gfs to give Igor and Call Me When You Get Lost a try and they completely changed their views. It’s crazy how slept on he is. He’s one of the few artists right now who is evolving each album.

Alright, anybody who lived or grew up in LA from 2011-2013 knows how Tyler & OF changed the landscape. From the style to the music there was a point in time everybody wanted to be like Tyler. It wasn’t only valley type suburb kids who latched onto his vibe it was a lot of us from South Central, ELA, Compton etc. who gravitated towards him. His music was different from artists like TY$, YG, Joe Moses, RJ, E-40 who were dominating the LA airwaves with function/club bangers which was the popular genre here at the time. Now I will say that his music wasn’t for everybody but Yonkers was definitely a song that damn near everybody was bumping back then.

I’m not gonna lie, back in 2011 when he won his first MTV award, I was not impressed with Yonkers. I was a little disappointed because I didn’t understand how this person won this award for a song like that. But then there was one day in 2012, that I decided to start checking out some of his music because I was bored, that’s when I knew how much potential he had. I realized I had so much more in common with him than I thought. I too, was the weirdo, the odd one out of the bunch. So his and Odd Future music meant so much to me. It spoke to me and being myself, and not giving a damn about what anyone had to say. For over a decade now, I have been supporting him and everything he does. To see his growth is so bittersweet to me, because now everybody who shamed me for listening to him, listening to him. I’m so proud of him, but it makes me upset a little bit of people who like to jump on the bandwagon. I know he deserves all the success because he works so hard for it.

@@SolaceWhore Before this I thought of myself as a spec of dust floating amongst the great cosmos, insignificant even, but you have opened my eyes. People ARE allowed to have their own opinion, but thanks to your prolific words, I now realize and claim myself The Monolith of artistic claims in the music industry. I shall hear everyone’s thoughts and opinions, consider them, and make it one valid statement. Tyler remains one of the greatest talents of our generation (2009 - until he retires)

Glad to learn about Tyler. Love his fight. Keep fighting for your creativity; this is how music evolve.

The industry knows Tyler has that Kanye spark and that spark can’t get brighter because that type of music where your production isn’t generic and your lyrics aren’t generic its hard to compete with that. Drake snuck in with that sound and that’s how he gained everybody’s love, he’s changed up but he knows his beginning will make his ending more smooth. Those rappers who try to remain real and creative will always get push back because that music is timeless.

Damn your right , it’s almost like the more time , love , and attention you give to make art the longer it takes for people to appreciate and then it’s appreciated for a VERY long time👍🏼

Tyler’s music has a light to it and this dark music industry will NEVER get that. Meanwhile he’s thriving without them ALL! I’m proud of him fr!! 👏🏼☀️🤞🏼

Great video... you checked all the points. Tyler was young and immature. He wanted to fight the system but he realized you cant be problematic forever. If he woulda stayed the same, he definitely woulda got cancelled and left back in 2015. You gotta grow up eventually and Tyler finally did!

I think Tyler is like, the average, ideal individual. He did his thing, his way, kept growing and pushing getting love from his peers, until finally he's getting his flowers. We're blessed he ain't die, and get those: "He was under appreciated in his time".

When it comes to hip hop, while I like people like A$AP Rocky and Travis Scott, honestly as an artist I want to innovate like Yves Tumor, Tyler The Creator and d4vd. I want to be like them, that’s my letter. ❤

Na tbh his music is very niche. I'm not a fan at all anymore. I liked his stuff more when it was still Odd Future with Earl, Taco, and them other boys.

Tyler the Creator is like a New School Version of Del the Funky Homosapien, I can see a lot of similarities from having influences inside and outside of HipHop, having their own crews like Odd Future and Hieroglyphics, and just being comfortable with themselves and their own skin.

"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." - Ralph Waldo Emerson. Don't let anyone lie to you - being yourself is work. *Do the work*. If you stand out in a disruptive way or have a unique style? Then? You have more work to do than others. Find your tribe of folks and mentors who get you(to keep your sanity), fortify your resilience, build your confidence, and keep moving towards your goals. This is one of the reasons I dislike the spiel people give kids: "Be yourself, and people will like you." Giving them these expectations is dishonest...especially if they take it literally when they leave your bubble. Good Luck to everyone. I hope you have a good life experience and get to do the things you want to do with your life.

Let me get this Straight. Asks Nicki Minaj to get on I Ain't Got Mine gets Rejected. Asks Kanye gets Rejected..... He couldn't ask Kendrick Lamar to get on 🥴🤷🏿♂️ Tbh I Wished Kendrick Lamar was already on WOLF tbh. Worst to Kendrick Lamar was the Hottest Rapper of 2017

I like what tyler represents. Originality has been dead for a little too long. It's refreshing to see someone do something their own way and actually be respected and successful for it.

I honestly think a lot of artists were afraid of bombing in any colab with him, not being able to follow him. He's a REAL artist IMHO. Not a fabrication by a studio or manager. The industry is afraid of types like Tyler, cause they have no real control over him.

i think its just a creation of speculation in a way to make him infamous this is clearly a new type of cover because then he can say oh well. ill be the baddest rapper because then i can justify being unlikeable also, the more he is able to be infamous he can clearly lever it to aim at respectable labels saying. oh theyre to proper to have me on, cant hold me and so on

Longtime fans of Tyler like myself literally grew with him. No matter what the adults and critics said, Tyler was the voice of teens when I was in high school. So many of us saw ourselves in Odd Future. We were all angry and dissatisfied and Tyler's music spoke to that part of us. But as we grew and matured, so did Tyler and his music. There's something about Tyler's music that feels like home for me now, and a lot of fellow fans feel the same way judging by how we all know all the words to his songs and can sing along when he performs. He deserves everything he has and more for his artistry.
