No it just that he wasn't necessarily a rapper that stood out to people, so when he passed, and it deeply affected people in the community it made people change their minds and give him a chance. He's a stranger in a culture and art form where he has to carve a unique image. People aren't weird, they can change and evolve over time. Before Divine Feminine he was literally a cookie cutter frat rapper, then he evolved himself. It's how Macklemore ,lil dicky fell off , and nobody cares because they are replaceable (jack Harlow replaced him). If Tyler Continued on the track of making Goblin,Bastard and Cherry Bomb; he wouldve have been another Hopsin or big Sean.

This is largely why Hip Hop is dying on the charts. You have a few rappers who make big money but the rest are struggling to make ends meet. This much was evident in the Baby Mama video that their expenses are just as high as their income and even then it's not much. This recent fiasco with Kendrick basically created a monopoly for him. Meanwhile all the white people who used to buy the albums have moved onto EDM because there's no stigma against a white person liking that. Making Hip Hop only centered on Black people has effectively driven out your major audience. This was NEVER the case for Rock where the founders were black but eventually passed on to majority white bands.

It’s definitely much easier to come off as corny as a white rapper. And with so many two-week rappers in it for a cash-grab, it makes sense why people get skeptical when the next white rapper steps up. It’s important to understand this going into it. Gaining peers respect in rap over a long period of time is nothing new, (it’s just a bit harder for the white folks.) Remember the history of the genre before you even step in it, and pay respect to those who paved the path before you. As a white rapper myself, hopefully one day soon I can prove to anyone who cares about my music that my intentions are pure. ❤

He insisted on making Eminem the GOAT because he is the GOAT. Except mayyyybe Tupac. Sorry but Em is a better MC than Nas. And most people have no idea who Black Thought or K-Rhino even are. Lol really? At the very least eminem is on the Mount Rushmore of Hip Hop along with the all time greats. Lyrically em is untouchable and even most of the rap greats will openly admit that themselves. Why is there someone always triggered by eminem being called the GOAT? Every time, yall can not get to that keyboard fast enough to whine that em is overrated or famous just because he is white. And that somehow Em fans aren't "real" fans of hip hop. But guess what? We also call him the goat because we are allowed to have our own opinions. My opinion is that Em is the GOAT. An opinion also shared by millions of others. You so called "true" hip hop fans are in a minority. And your Columbus analogy makes no sense since eminem never claimed to discover rap. Hip Hop at the end of the day is storytelling while rhyming in a cool way on a mesmerizing beat, and I just don't think Eminem has done it better and/or more than the other great rappers like Kendrick, Biggie, 2 Pac, LIL Wayne etc.

the issue ppl have with white rappers and even other black ones is when they dnt respect the genre. The white rappers always just turn it into "its because i'm white"... Em is one of the few that actually knew the history and stuff. Thats the reason alot of old rappers dont like new ones is the same reason they didnt like white ones. They just jump into it for money then jump out. With the whit rappers its alittle worst because alot of them will change the whole way they talk to sound like they are from a urban area then when they get big they leave hiphop and change to their normal voice.
