On "My Car Story" we're at Alpio’s @ Troon ( An Event Center ) in Scottsdale AZ on 8-4-17.
We're looking at a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible in Red Paint. This car features the 426 Hemi engine.
The car's Owner is Alpio Barbara. Alpio’s had this car since 2013. He became a “Car Guy” at a young age when his Brother would work on cars and then have him test drive them. Those rides in the cars fueled his passion and desire to one day own some of those cars he’d driven in.
Well the great thing is, he likes to share the beauty of his cars with others to enjoy too. He’s the President of Alpio’s @ Troon where he shares his collection of cars, motorcycles, 1950’s and sports memorabilia, and games with people who’d like to have a fun destination for an event.

1970 challenger is a " Legend". The very first time I took it for a test drive when I was studying in the STATES. I really appreciate the beauty and power of this car. Mopar had some beeeaaauuutiful cars back in days! 1970....spoiled for choice, Charger, Challenger, Super Bee, Roadrunner, GTX, Hemi Cuda.... My Hemi would be a black '68 Charger R/T, four on the floor, Dana 60....I need a cold shower! 😉😄😂 Another awesome video Lou! 👍👌👏

I agree with Stephen. All R/T's would have an S for the second digit, for "special" price. JS27R0 would be the vin.

Original, right down to the tires!? C'mon lou we're not stupid! None of the 12 ( 9 domestic ) hemi challenger convertibles came with the N96 shaker hood. I patiently waited for you to zoom in on the fender tag, it's a JH car, non factory R/T and L code.... Factory 383. And a non N96 car. It's a beautiful car, however have the owner present it honestly, or stick with Tom Lembeck's Mopars.

Hi Lou, Absolutly love your videos and have been a subscriber since the start. However, This is not a Genuine HEMI Challenger Convertible. my Good Friend, Brad Miles, Owns the Complete E - Body HEMI Registry, and of each car, He has a factory Correct Die cast Model. This car started out as base Challenger convertible converted to Challenger R/T convertible.

My grandfather has 1 of 8 426 HEMI RT convertible challengers with a 4 speed and the color is plumb purple. It’s been in the family for 50 years now. Whenever he bought it it was like $4,000 now it’s worth a million. The story of it is awesome. He actually had 2 of them, the first one he got, he crashed and he went right back to the dealer and got another 😂.
