I kept all stock pipes, cut rear cats off, cut mufflers out and installed 32in thrush flow throughs. Don't regret it. Louder when on gas but cruising can't tell I have an exhaust swap at all.

For the check engine light. Buy a spark plug non fouler that your oxygen sensor will screw into. Then install both into the exhaust. It should make the check engine light turn off. There are many videos of people doing this. Hope this might help you out Mr. Random. I enjoy your videos.

To me, as an owner of a '13 5,3l Tahoe and a '18 6,2l Escalade - both with deleted middle mufflers - your car sounds totally awesome. That's the least acceptable volume of exhaust for me, and I drive daily (sometimes with music switched off just to listen to the exhaust). If you wanna hear something loud - try deleting the muffler(s) on a 3l BMW, that's somehow louder than any V8 I've heard.

If you know what you’re doing, there’s a solution to the engine check light caused by the O2 sensors reading wrong when you cut the cats. I should actually say the flow read is outside the perimeters the computer expects

When I did my exhaust on my vic. I ran around for a week with open exhaust. I have more throttle response with the full exhaust then with it open. May not have anything to do with back pressure, but it's a lot more snappy with the mufflers, and sounds better

Little Fact: If you cut off only the rear cats then you should have no issues with a check engine light. I removed mine last week and no issue as long as you add some exhaust pipe to replace the cat you removed.

He is 100% correct. My Crown Vic exhaust ends after the front cats and opens up directly under the front floor boards. It is loud as hell. His camera microphones don’t accurately show how super loud it really is. But take his word for it. IRL it is MUCH louder than you hear in this video. It is absolutely deafening to drive that way.

For the check engine light I used a capacitor and a resistor and with that it passed the california smog test and no check engine light. I didn't cut the cat, I Hollowed out all 4 and added flowmasters to tame the sound

lots of people mix up "back pressure" with scavenging. back pressure is bad but having proper sized pipes can give you slight gains like in low end torque due to the scavenging effect

If you had cut from the exhaust cat inlet, it would have sounded like a bomber plane. I had make a cut on mine, ahead of cat because had damaged converter and blocked exhaust. I did a full cat delete on my 1992 Lincoln and it’s so freaking loud I had neighbors telling me they could hear me from 4-5 miles on the complete opposite side of town at 3am. I will also say the power increase and torque was substantially higher those cats really do strangle the engine I wish they had a way to make it quiet but also keep the power gains.

It's not back pressure that causes some people problems,it's the air fuel ratio, for emission purposes the tolerances in the computer are programmed with whatever resistance it's designed to have,if you really open that up " total cat delete" you will have to richen and readjust fuel trim to not lose allot on low end, that's why when you change pipes on a motorcycle you would have it jetted for example, the back 2 oxygen sensor s on that car basically just check function of converter and do not control air fuel ratio so chopping them will not hurt and will give some gain, chopping the front and backs will screw you without a retune

Great video! But why would you put a child in the front bucket of that tractor and then drive it in high gear? If you were driving at a slow crawl in a field it could be risky because if you hit a bump the boy could be thrown out of the bucket. At higher speed the same could happen but it is much more dangerous since you could not stop quick enough to avoid running him over! (Have fun, but be safe!)

On my 2005 I cut out all 4 cats and put all 3 o2 sensors back in the same place. No check engine light. And it cleared up a #3 misfire I had at high speeds. The stock mufflers have a unique sound too. Runs a hell of a lot better than before.

You could just cut the cats and use some wire to hold the rest of the exhaust up. I did that to my 03 and she was obnoxious for a couple weeks. But u left the rest and it was a good thing. I now have a proper replacement for the cats I removed. The biggest annoyance of the car delete was how much it assaulted my feet.

I went to a local muffler shop and got the equivalent to 40s and it was decent. Then my secondary cats went bad so those got taken out. Its loud enough. Theres not always a constant drone, but I'd imagine super 10 would be good with all cats.

I have a 1997 crown I just hollow my converters out on the crown it has 4 of them like 2 on left and right but it's actually only 2 cats to make duals buy the h pipe and from the 2 cats connect h pipe and the resonators if you want not needed though I just buy pre bent tail pipes 2 of them from each side of h pipe as far as the O2 sensor I wire a 3.3 capacitor with a resistor a think 100mv when this is wired into the O2 sensor the Ecu sees the correct value I believe .50 volts so now when inspection comes you have cat deletes but not ALL THEY SEE IS WHAT APPEAR TO BE CATS SHHHHHH and the correct values to match without using plug de foulers that the inspection shops are looking for now but not with my method just some will find this useful , I still cannot find headers for my 97 crown 4.6L Not even shorty headers idk why but it stills sounds good running true duals from the OEM exhaust manifolds if any one knows were to find headers for the 97 crown 4.6L

The back pressure thing is a little off. When my fuel pump on my 92 went out I needed a car to daily. This car was completely done. 1992 Camry the exhaust was broken off right at the tip of the manifold. You would start it and your head and ears would bleed. This car being a Camry was beat up big time however with it being that short literally exiting under the hood when you drove it normal it would do sub par however if you got on it the second you let off the throttle even a little it would choke out so badly that you would assume something was really wrong. I fixed my crown Vic even though it's over 400k it was way more worth fixing than the Camry. I sold the Camry for 150 and the guy keeps asking should I change the fuel filter the spark plugs etc because it keeps choking out and I told him over and over you need to put some more piping on it the little four banger is struggling under full throttle. Now to put this a bit more in perspective my crown has been converted to dual and I put glass packs on it(due to being too loud as you mentioned before) ironically everyone thought I deleted the cats but nope just the muffler and made it true dual but that camry man would it struggle under load.

Removing your rear cats shouldn't make the check engine light come on. The front O2 sensors tell the engine how to adjust the air/fuel ratio. The back O2 sensors are after the front cats. They send a signal to tell the computer if the cats are functioning properly. Whatever happens after that point won't effect the check engine light.

Trading my open header running f100 for an 07 crown Vic Wednesday. I daily drove a 65 cadillac with nothing but a foot of pipe coming off the manifolds for over a year, I doubt a 4.6 is gonna be what finishes off my hearing.

I had my pipes rust off at the heads and come off and for 6 months she sounded like a fleet of harleys Davidson's it was beautiful but so so fucking obnoxious 😂
