LOUD FANS? Re Apply Thermal Paste and Thermal Pads to a Launch PS4 PRO
I am not a professional. Just self taught through KZbin videos. I just wanted to show how I did it and the problems I had.
In the end, it did quiet down the fans and I am happy I did it.
There is a bit of lighting issues in this video due to the fact I relied on the sun outside coming through my window.
Thank you for watching

Very good walk through! I think I watched 20 times over getting myself prepped. Knocked it out and it is now whisper quiet. Before 5-10 mins on the title screen of god of war and the fan would push full blast. After 45 mins, just a whisper. Started playing and it is still whisper!!! Yay 😀

PS4 Pro is hell hot while working, no matter how often you change the paste hehe But if you play rather often as i do, you need to change termal pads at least 1 time per year, if you check you old ones they are very soft, not as they should be my friend.

It is a very good guide, helped me a lot while replacing my PS4 thermal paste and pads. There is only one thing that I would like to contribute to this video guide, you don't have to remove the power supply socket from mainboard with a plier. You can pull up power supply side connector gently. Disconnect the connector much easier in this way and was no need to find a plier. Just gave extra attention to power cable doesn't fold while putting backing in the mainboard again. Thanks for the video.
@marcobarrientos4953

Definitely! I was following some other person's guide - they said to use mini pliers. Needless to say I almost broke the connector - it was infinitely easier and safer to just gently, but firmly pull it out by hand.

Awesome tutorial just replaced all the pads & paste, the ram & cpu must have starting to overheat seriously and burn at some point as it had black marks on it the metal casing covers above the cpu & ram areas, the fan was sounding like a jet engine literally as soon as I started it up, the case was red hot within minutes. So started looking for fix videos found this and so decided to try this!! and I swear to god its now completely cool & silent.. I replaced the pads on the ram and the other 6 smaller ones, as well as paste on the cpu... WOW night & day it hasn't made any noise at all yet so thank you for saving my ps4 its better than it was when I got it seriously. I will be doing this every year now lol

if the thermal pads are so degraded that they're coming off in pieces/leaving residue do you need to clean the spots where you'll put their replacements (i'm imagining w/rubbing alcohol?)

When disconnecting the connector from the motherboard what I like to do is hold the connector down with a small tool like a flathead screwdriver and use pliers to pull out the wire from the connector. Although the connectors are strong enough to not be pulled out really easily you can rip it out accidentally. So just be careful with it and you’ll be alright :)

Hi. What if my ps is missing one thermal pad in RAM? Can it burn out?
@garylazer-eyes6196
@garylazer-eyes6196 2 жыл бұрын
It’ll just overheat & with electronics heat is one of the negative things that cause it to deteriorate faster than it would at a recommended operational temperature. It shouldn’t break it instantly because if it gets too hot it should shutdown instead of burn up but it will fail faster over time if left to overheat constantly.
