No just diagnosed the problem in very un safe the water may make the belt slip off.

This worked miracles. Exact problem on the Maxima. Noise instantly went away. Change was easy with wheel removed and used a jack to lift the car.

Sounds like you have a bearing going bad in one of your pulleys

Awesome video bro. I've got a 07' Altima 2.5sl and it's been making a loud sound similar to that. I'm gonna poor water on it tomorrow and see if it stops. But also of note is that it doesn't make that loud noise all the time. It comes and goes. I'll let you know what happens tho

Quick question. 07 Ford Mustang v6 automatic. Squeezing on cold start. Goes away when engine gets hot. Changed the belt and stationary pulley. Still does it. Tensioner seems good.

Remove the belt and start it up without the belt, if the noise is gone, then you have a bad pulley (alternator, a/c compressor, etc) if the noise is still there, then it’s something on the engine side.

I’m having the same squealing noise but mine only does it when it rains and when i first crank it up. After a few seconds the noise goes away. Other than that it never squeals only when you first crank it during the rain. Is it my belt or pulley?

Have u find out if it’s a pulley or a belt? I’m having the same issue. It’s a screeching sound at start up or when it’s raining after awhile it goes away. If I start the car again I don’t hear it and if I let the car sit for a few hours and start it up I don’t hear it.

One of the bearings on the pulleys might be going out…

Sounds like my truck but my tensioner is going bad hangs an 1/8th inch off the tensioner so need new Beltane tensioner possible idleler pully also.

@@AC-130.... I ended up changing the belt and it was fine for a few days but then the same thing happened again. We also changed out one of the pulleys (same as the silver one at 04:10). But same thing too. I ended up selling my car but not because of this issue. From all of the research I did I feel like it was actually the main pulley tensioner itself or maybe a pulley misalignment because one of the pulleys had a slight wobble when spinning. But I never had the opportunity to swap it and see. Good luck too because I know it could be a thousand different things and it’s frustrating having to guess. But just remember it’s not too much of a big deal of terms of your car breaking down so don’t worry too much 🙏🙏🙏

Cool. My ringing noise sounds like George Jetson's flying car. Except a higher tone. I'll pour a bit of water on my belt tomorrow and see what happens. Take it off & see if the pulleys are smooth. Pretty sure my tensioner pulley is bad - as it seems to have play.

I've got a 2005 Civic coupe EX that squeals for about 20 seconds when started cold. It gets sooo loud. Is changing my belt a guaranteed fix to stop the squeal? It is the serpintine belt, because when I spray water on it, it stops for a bit.

@@Ivan-qe6nd I found out the locknut was loose. I adjusted the tension on the belt and tightened the locknut and it went away. I get an occasional squeal when it's freezing cold outside after snowfall but other than that, it's all good.

dnt use soap. use tire conditioner. rub it between grooves. just a temporay fix. have the belt replaced for peace of mind.

I have 2009 maxima and it does that noise too but only if its 2000 rpm and up but the noise is exactly the same only difference its no loud like yours so i guess its the same problem ?
