Real nice video. If you don't have a pulley puller, vice etc., just purchase the pump and reservoir with the pulley attached and save time with the removal and install of the pulley.
@joedufour81884 ай бұрын
Or save a lot of money and go to one of the big auto parts stores and do the p/s pump pulley remover/installer loan a tool. They are much smaller than what is shown in the video and the pulley can be removed and installed with the pump still installed in the car. It's real quick and easy too.

nice mousetrap for that pulley. The pulley shaft on all pumps is tapped with threads for a bolt, fond right bolt and spacers then drive it on- love y'alls channel always fun

Ok internet… stop making trailblazer videos on power steering pumps. This vid is the one ☝️

Had to do this on my Trailblazer about 2 years ago, and it was very frustrating. I replaced my Alternator, belt, and VVT Solenoid while I had it off, so in the end it all worked out well!

The steering wheel reading the owner's manual underwater... While you're trying to figure out why the power door locks won't let you open the door 😂.... Do yourself a favor and invest in a power steering puller install tool. It is worth the money, $20.00 at harbor freight and probably cheaper on Amazon. Great video

I will be doing so. So much easier with one of those. I think they can be rented from an auto parts store too.

While you're in there replace the oil pressure sending unit.... It's cheap enough, and it's way easier to get to with the power steering pump off....... And they eventually go bad, and are a pain to get to from under the vehicle......

getting the steering wheel on there requires a special tool at orielly. I went and got it. I almost bent it otherwise with some other tool. This was a tough job man. You will be tired after u do this. But thats how cars are.

Next time to install the pulley on the new pump use a long bolt a bunch of washers and a nut the bold threads into the shaft that the pulley goes on just tighten the nut with the washers and it presses on the pulley

Nicely done. I would replace those transmission cooling lines soon... They are looking pretty crusty. I had one develop a pin-hole on the highway and it entirely cooked the trans all in one 40 minute drive. I replaced lines, added a dedicated cooler, and had to put a rebuilt salvage yard trans in the truck - but it certainly would have been better (easier & cheaper) to just replace the lines (mine didn't even look that bad, but there was one small spot down near the catalytic converter that rotted through).

Nice video except I would have rented the proper puller from an auto parts place or bought one. Also, you should have flushed the system by leaving the return hose off while turning the wheel back and fort several times.

If the pump whines but dont leak does it need replacing? Also where else (other than the pump & or reservoir) would leaking power steering fluid be able to come from? I have a pretty good leak ive noticed but its not coming from the pump or reservoir
@TheDaninator2 жыл бұрын
The steering rack has seals that tend to go bad. They can leak at the line fittings or at the ends of either end of the rack. The pump can whine if it's low on fluid.
