Thank you for another great video review. Our goal with the sfx was to provide the greatest speaker we could at the cheapest price possible for the people asking for a "super budget friendly pro audio mid" and in my opinion for $14.99 each.... how could you beat it??? =D

My take away from this is, the Cadence is acting like a true midrange/midbass. The D4S is acting more like a full range speaker. Clearly this is confirmed by the specifications.

Agree. I think a good "midrange" driver should show it's colors between like 150Hz-6.5KHz and roll off quick in both directions, BUT have good snappy transient response without muddiness. Let a dedicated tweeter handle the highs.

The d4s plays lower and louder but that high end harshness is to much . I would love to hear them compared with a 5k Hz crossover to block the highs so we can actually tell how well they really sound

@@cbronsonda13th37 8t might sound great if ran with right crossover just don't know it's not meant run full range so it sounds harsh . A mid-base I you know I want to know what to vocal sound like . But ya with out a crossover it's harsh , maybe harsh with crossover I don't know but would be cool to find out

I run D4S and been very good speakers like you said I ran them just on sto k head unit and added an amp later and they sound real good can't beat the price and quality. Thanks for the comparisons.

for cadence had a bit more compromise in the highs and mids and its sounds like tuned more to be a pro audio midbass than just a midrange unlike the d4s which is tuned more higher for midrange use only although its has bass on it but not as good as the cadence. although cadence has a high compression version of this if its more clarity and highend response that you are looking for.

I just installed a pair of the down4sound sfx 6.5 in my doors on factory system, yes loud, and very clear, can't complain on price, installing 2 more plus and 8" in factory locations today, later I will add DSP and amps I'll be rocking!

Seems like the DS4 has louder highs but they sounded tinny like. Even the guys voice sounded like it had it had less depth. I wonder how they would match up with tweeters and cross overs.

I installed 4x down4sound sfx 6.5" in doors and rear deck, with 1x down4sound sfx 80 8" midrange in rear deck factory hole. These things get loud, clear im very happy, No amp yet! I paid 23.99 lasr year.

I just bought my son a 23 hatch. I have 2 JL 10 TW3’s, JL XD 600/1 and 400/4 that was in my old truck laying around and he wants to put in his new civic. He bought 4 Kenwood excellon 6.5” x174 coaxial for it. Do you think they will be any good? I’ve never had a coaxial setup but I think he’s after loudness and really doesn’t care for a front stage. If not those what other door speakers do you recommend sir? Thanks a ton!!

Are there any of these that actually have 8 screw holes to be used in a car door? After all the rattles I get with traditional speakers in my doors, I'm thinking a proper "PA" style midbass would work better, and let the sub handle the rest. Most speakers in this style only have 4 screw holes, which isn't enough to get a good seal on my factory speaker baffles (metra adapters).

if I heard this right the down 4sound was really loud around 2000 Hertz But a test should involve a spectrum analyzer to see how flat the response these speakers are going to have in order to be fair and accurate.. .

It depends on what you're looking for, but for overall value, output, frequency range, and power handling combined, the D4S-65s are kings.

You got it backwards the cheap Chinese D4S that’s not tuned properly for a mid bass sounds like the full range

brother you dont want a speaker 6.5 playing above 3.5k - they are already beaming bad above 2k. If you want a beaming speaker cross them high

Thinking about getting a cadence xenith 8" HCi.. claims 103db. If it gets to even 2/3 the claimed RMS without distortion... thats gonna be a loud ho. Looks to come with bass filter... i think the other one comes with bandpass filter. The true midrange one. Looks similar with a different surround and a 90oz mag vs the 60oz.

Door speakers are made for free air,not a box. And they’re sitting down,not sideways. So no screws are needed for the test,they don’t do what subs do.
