Loudest Lamborghini Ever? Flat-out in the bonkers 820bhp Essenza SCV12 | Top Gear

RIP headphone users. This is the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 - an 820bhp, limited edition track-only hypercar developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse. They’re the fastest most motorsport people in Lambo’s workforce and seemingly the deafest. Nestled inside that monocoque is a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 featuring special exhaust pipes. When we say ‘special’ we mean ‘straight through’ to help reduce back pressure and bring all the noise. So strap yourself in and prepare your ears as Top Gear Magazine’s Jack Rix takes you for a tour before being torpedoed up the hill at this year’s Festival of Speed.

I just remembered, when there were races on our Zandvoort circuit, all was fine, but when the Diablo's entered the circuit, people living nearby the circuit started complaining about the roaring noise, haha

I was lucky enough to see the real thing at goodwood last weekend, it was just utterly ridiculous. The video doesn’t do it justice, the sound was just immense. If you want to get an idea for how loud it was, imagine the volume in real life from this video, then times that by about 10.

People are taking delivery on some that are like blue with orange accents, except it doesn't work nearly as well as it would on something like a Senna. They look hideous. THat one that was sitting in the display with one solid color looked really good.

That gearing is the reason it had to be pushed all over the place. Its a throroughbread race car made for the track. No stop and go city driving needed so the gearing is fully made for the track and having even the first gear usable beyond getting off the line.
