recording decibels arent a one-way road for world records like this, finding the exact time where the cat's purr is at its loudest is so much more incredibly difficult than it seems. the decibel recorder cannot listen to the purr for a minute and give you the loudest decibel displayed, that creates a luck factor where you cant be 100% certain. that is why the sound crew transferred all the recorded data onto a computer where they can manually search for the loudest point throughout the whole session.

I rehabilitated an abused 18 lb red alley cat. He rewarded me by jumping on my lap and laying his head on my chest and purring louder than any cat I ever heard. Don't know how he would rank, but it was a purrfect reward for me and the beginning an incredible relationship. I'm sure you will never tire of hearing it and I miss terribly my own pal.

I have a beautiful female Tuxedo cat (like the cartoon cat Sylvester). She is a long haired beauty and I wanted more, more, more. I wanted to breed her and let her line go on. But I know nothing about taking care of pregnant cats, and thinking about all the unwanted cats, made me realize I had the "SPECIAL" one. I love her to death and know there is none like her in the world. Thank you for what you do for the leukemia kitties. You are right. They deserve loving too.

My persian would sleep on the pillow. next to mine and purr so loud I couldn't get to sleep and that's the only place she'd sleep. A week before I discovered she had cancer, she started sleeping on my pillow. Had to have her put to sleep to end her suffering. Toughest thing I've ever had to do. After 14 years, she was no longer a cat. She was almost like a person to me.

+Oscar Derham It's been a while since that occured, but I still miss her. People who don't love pets don't seem to understand that after so many years they're no longer just pets, they are literally family. I probably could have kept her alive a little longer, but did not want her suffering. Cancer attacks them so rapidly and gives them no chance of survival, at all. I sure didn't want to do it, but felt it was the only right choice. Sorry for your loss, too.
