I'm happy to see Loudness is still performing and Takasaki-san still shredding like a God
@clauswilker4734 Жыл бұрын
So am I - but Crazy Nights as an opener? An Elektra/Time Warner- stipulated song IMHO, rather commercial. Crazy Doctor is a league above in all respects. Or more.
@makukawakami Жыл бұрын
@@clauswilker4734 It's their most recognizable song. Loudness have a plethora in their repertoire they can pull from, but Crazy nights is the most recognizable one from their work. You cant expect them to open with something like Exploder or Demon Disease
@clauswilker4734 Жыл бұрын
@@makukawakami I beg to disagree - as you say, they have more than enough to choose from, and first that comes to my mind is SDI - it will certainly bring the audience to working temperature in no time at all. My first Loudness song ever, and it blew my into space. Alternatively Black Star, or Clockwork Toy. Crazy Doctor would also have been an option (and a better one, as I consider it a much more interesting song) - it has that special blend of thrash and prog that I so highly esteem. Crazy Nights is a bland Billboard-aimed stadium rocker, below their magnificent capabilities.
I have to say that the unique thing about these metal gods is that they were rebels in the way they started their careers in this business it’s a very difficult thing to get into but they started out as a band under a talent agency and then the agency wanted to change their image and sound and they basically just told them where to stick it and the rest was history 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

I saw these guys open for motley Crue and they totally rocked! After the Motley Crue concert the next morning I went and bought the loudness album. LOL!
Loudness Thurder in the East 1985. My favorite album always. I'm remember in San Juan Puerto Rico island 1986 Loudness opening act of Stryper. Excellent memories.

That was a great set, tight. I am a long time "Loudness" fan, since "Thunder In The East". I saw them open for "Motley Crue" back in the day. Any ROCK band together that long is real. Great music.

Very few metal bands still sound this good after 40 years playing. But loudness kills it just as good as 1985.

I saw them in a dive bar a few years ago near my house. They sounded amazing. I’ve been a fan for a long time. The singer walked up to the bar and ordered a beer. I should have said hello and thanked him for playing for such small crowd but I got star struck so I didn’t say anything. I hope he didn’t think I didn’t like Japanese people. I regret this to this day. My advice you get a chance to talk to one of your hero’s do it!!!!

Protip: Akira uses his picking thumb when playing rhythm for some extra subtle harmonics to add texture. Used to buy metal records at Leopolds in Berkeley off of Telegraph next to Silver Ball back in the day and bought a few import Loudness albums, I miss my youth. The classically inspired interlude in Crazy Doctor is so fun to play on guitar. Simple, sounds good, and feels good under the fingers.

Saw LOUDNESS first time in spring of 1987 w/KISS as Headliner already had their Debut album/CD that was a killer record & have each of their other 7 albums... I didn't see them until I'd moved to Japan & they were Headliners with other rising popular Japanese metal acts (Guakto, EZO, Anthem, XYZ>A & other acts ) in every show in Japan when I saw them more 1995-2004 when I lived there. Yeah Akira Takasaki was the main stay of the band. But original members left & returned later. By originals I'm not only talking about Guitarist & founding member, but co-founder drummer Munetaka "Davy" Higuchi had been with LOUDNESS until he left & was replaced in 1994 by Hirotsugu Homma until 2000. & "Davy" returned 2000 until his death from liver Cancer in 2009 & then Masayuki Suzuki joined the band in 2009 until present..... original Singer Minoru Niihara sang from 1980 - 1988 & then returned in 2001-Present & wss replacement by Singers Michael Vescera 1988-1992, & Masaki Yamada 1992-2001 were also in the band during Niihara's absence from the band. Original Bassist Masayoshi Yamashita also left the band in 1992 same time as singer Vescera did. But returned in 2000 when he'd heard Singer Niihara was returning. Replacement Bassists Taji Sawada & Saota Shibata held down the reins for 8 yrs & then Yamashita returned in 2000..... But basically even with the core players leaving for short periods the band still ROCKED regardless in my opinion. Another 80's underrated Hard Rock/Metal act.
