Creed gets a lot of unwarranted hate. Scott's lyrics come from the heart, and Mark Tremonti is one of the greatest guitarists of the 90's.

There is a whole generation of rock music that people just don't like. The late 90s to early 2000's is that generation. People love ripping on Creed, Nickleback and Limp Bizkit. Though also millenials love listening to music ironically and there has been a recent resurgence for Limp Bizkit. I know several people who went and saw Limp Bizkit recently when they toured with Scowl and some who went to go see Limp Bizkit to actually see Limp Bizkit, which is mind blowing. Creed and Nickleback may have their heyday again but they're no Limp Bizkit. Like you can meme both Creed and Nickleback but they're not so laughable that you'd actually go and see it for yourself. They're way too serious, whereas Limp Bizkit just isn't. Though you never know, maybe after further hindsight, people may start looking at Creed differently. They play on the classic rock station and as young people who didn't experience Creed first hand will not associate them with a certain "nostalgia" those that did experience them first hand, they may appreciate Creed differently and possibly enjoy it.

It's a bunch of hipster BS ... People think hating extremely popular things makes them different or edgy ... Look at any really successful band and your gonna find a large crowd of people who say they hate that band and they'll always have some stupid reason to back their opinion like dude Metallica has sold some unreal number of records you thinking their assholes really doesn't change the obvious fact that their pretty good at what they do
@davidnissim589
@davidnissim589 2 жыл бұрын
@@joshuataylor8294 Agreed. Despite constantly bashing on them, those three bands have held up incredibly well. Limp Bizkit just headlined Lollapalooza, 20 years after their initial peak, and Wes Borland & Mark Tremonti are both hailed as two of the best modern rock guitarists. Creed and Nickelback are both very popular among Christian rock circles. Those bands have been the butt of rock jokes for so long, but they've prevailed.

Every Creed album was consistently worse than the last. My Own Prison is a legit masterpiece. Human Clay was ok, but it wasn't anywhere near the quality of MOP. The third album was called Weathered, and that was a perfect title because that's exactly what the band had become. Alter Bridge, on the other hand, is a fantastic band

Mark Tremonti is a legend! His riffs are some of the most challenging and enjoyable riffs I have ever learned. People tend to hate on huge success. I'm one of those people to a degree. But Creed dominated the 90s. They introduced rock to millions of soccer moms! Now people don't glare at me as much when I'm slamming Machine Head in my truck! Thanks Creed for helping us opressed metal-heads blend in to society!

I'm happy for Scott being sober and better. He seems very happy and chill here. But one can't lie that he was a great singer in his prime. Creed should low key make another album and collaborate with AB (Myles technically). I prefer AB, but Creed has a special place in my heart. They foreshadowed what Alter Bridge would become.

I just want to go on record by saying that if it wasn’t for creed, the world would not have alter bridge, Mark Tremonti’s solo band, Scott Phillips side gig, projected, art of anarchy, slash and Myles Kennedy, and Myles Kennedy’s year of the tiger album. Creed laid the foundation for some amazing music to come a decade later. Especially with alter bridge evolving into one of the premier progressive metal bands and tremonti becoming what I like to call one of the first “alternative thrash” bands. Be thankful for creed in the mid to late 90s!

Same experience with lucid dreaming. I learned about it in applied psychology which was by invatation only. And the dream I was having I was able to change the reccuring dream of being lost and chased, to wear while dreaming I said to myself I am dreaming I can be up high with a perspective looking down and find my way. That is so cool someone else had the same experience. I wish nothing but the total best for Scott and his former band mates. Scott seems like a really good guy.

Creed is awesome! I don’t care about what people think, honestly! I really liked their music, since the first song I heard, ‘Torn’ from ‘My Own Prison.’ Just because an artist has their struggles, does not take away from how I feel about their music. We all have our struggles. I never met anyone in this world who had no issues. The fact is, if you think you have no issue, that is your issue. None of us are perfect. Remember that!

I'm not a huge Creed fan, they do have some legit decent songs, and not a big Stapp fan; but this makes me kind of respect him slightly more. Shows you that nobody is perfect, and non-profit charity is always a plus.

I don't align myself with all of his views, but I will say that I grew up listening to Creed and never understood all the hate they got. They were an awesome rock band that sold millions of albums. Scott Stapp has an incredible rock voice and Mark Tremonti on the guitar was just incredible. My Own Prison, One Last Breath, One, Torn, Bullets and What If still rock out every time I hear them. Props to Scott for openly talking about his addiction and mental health issues and not hiding behind it or avoiding the question.

People thought that they were too similar to Nickleback and that their entire catalog was much of the same thing.

I never understood people "hating" a band. Probably something about comfort in group think. I can take or leave Creed but am always happy for artists who succeed in a cut throat industry. Don't like a band/artist? Just move away to someone else.

I don't consider myself a loyal Creed fan but Human Clay I absolutely loved, it was just a great album. I liked the artwork so much I got a poster and ended up getting it signed by all 4 at a show in 00. Happy to see Scott doing so well.

Exactly. Think about what an AA or NA meeting would have been like with SS, Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Scott Weiland, shall I keep going?????? He is probably helping a shit-ton of people & doesn't even know it. So glad he's gotten it together. Hope he keeps it up -- staying humble, working his program and not listening to the haters. Someone like him doesn't need that -- they do enough of hating themselves! Love SS!!!

He admits it when he's the problem, which is a very refreshing take in modern times. Everyone always plays the blame game. Nothing is ever anyone's fault. Kid has a problem in school and is getting crappy grades, has to be the teacher.

Creed had some solid tunes. They were good for the times. The guitarist was always solid. Never bought any of their stuff. But they were always on someone’s stereo partying back in the day. They sold a gang of albums, so someone liked em. Not bad, but not Pantera 🤘🏻
