Addendum, 2 years later: It's profoundly gratifying to me to read the 90+% favorable comments on this marvelous performance: Two entertainment geniuses at the top of their respective games, performing an extremely complex musical arrangement flawlessly, apparently having a ball doing it (the ABSOLUTE ESSENCE of a successful performance, whether true or not), and contentually, paying tribute to both Classical and Jazz Giants. (When I grow up, I'd like to be either one of these guys.)

Yeah, I love it too. I also adore the moment before as Danny goes on heightening his voice from "Paganini-Toscanini" to "Khatchaturian" (a Russian composer) which he indeed propounces like a sneeze - it was so good I MYSELF nearly shouted "Bless you, Danny !" while watching it ;-P "Gesundheit" jokes were a must in every movie Danny's wife Sylvia collaborated on - sort of an inside joke ;-)

I read somewhere that Danny Kaye loved this version of the song so much he had it always ready in the projection room at Paramount, and after showing friends round the studio, he'd make them sit and watch this.
