The scene in the theatre wasn't anything like Louis said, it wasn't anything to do with a** f***. Not sure why he felt the need to sensationalise an already scandalous scene.
@RocktracksSC Жыл бұрын
The edit on Criterion absolutely has it visible on the screen at one point, but she was watching oral sex while sniffing the tissue, not that the specific act matters imo
@eleccy5 ай бұрын
@@RocktracksSC True, I don't think it really matters either, which is why I commented this, I'm confused why Louis described it so specifically and so sensationalised compared to the actual scene, probably for comedic effect, but it's so specific in how he's overexaggerating that it leaves me confused as to why he would be so specific, and why he also introduces a racial element? Don't know. It's just weird.

The way he describes it to an audience of people on the verge of tuning out is fine.
@DCI-Frank-Burnside7 жыл бұрын
Yeah but he's talking to a bunch of douche bags. He's not likely to address the scene where she is sniffing the tissue as a painful study of one woman's pathological inability to connect emotionally to her environment. It's not the right crowd. And as the scandal that's currently enveloping C.K suggests he has his own psycho-social problems. He probably did connect with the film on some level.

No man, he is just playing the role of "the stupid american who doesn't understand art, psychology, and philosophy." His purpose is to dumb down the film so that the average american at least might be interested in watching the film later. Judging from the kind of stand-up he does, he understands that the film is a deep investigation of human sexuality, but he cannot go on there and talk about Lacan, if he wants any americans to watch the movie :D
