Gaddafi was a monster, and standard of living was high for his extended family, his tribe and parts of the cities of Tripoli and Sirte but was almost rock-bottom everywhere else. NATO's intervention was illegal and caused a shitload of problems in the short-term, but don't build up Gaddafi into some principled martyr. It's okay to oppose both NATO and Gaddafi without going all in on one of them.

I like the show, but they are wrong about so many things. Gaddafi was one of the best and beloved leaders in history. What he has done for Libya and Africa in general, is ridiculous. Building water and energy to most of n.Africa, interest free loans, 20k when you get married, I could go on forever. Quality of life was better than russia, saudi arabia and brazil until we fucked it up. 1/3 the entire pop protested our bombing, and it wasn't his people that overthrew him, but foreigners.
