God this is fucking accurate. I'm from Atlantic City, my grandfather and father literally owned a seafood store/bait shop in Sea Isle City. The way you described the feeling of the natives and the way the casino owners and politicians don't give a flying fuck about us? Spot. Fucking. On. It made me laugh because it's so accurate. My fiancé is from upstate NY, where I live now, and in our first year of dating her, her cousins and brother all were DYING to come to AC to see "the sights"... I tried talking then out of it for 2 whole months and they still insisted on coming. So they did... and within about 2 hours they were ready to leave. They couldn't believe how different it was from what it seemed on TV. And once they suck it dry.. they'll leave it just like they found it and they won't give a flying fuck then either.
